Misleading Promise & Dismissive Management - Disappointing
I contacted Hack My Course to find an IB Psychology tutor for my child. They required detailed intake forms, credit card information, and a signed contract, all under the premise that this would allow them to “match” us with the best tutor.
The tutor they assigned was 20 minutes late for our introductory call and only called after I sent both an email reminder and a text message. I had to follow up just to get basic responses. When I asked to confirm a lesson time, she said Thursday “around 8.” When I clarified that we could meet Thursdays at 8PM and asked whether she could commit to a regular schedule going forward, she didn’t respond for two days. Then, two minutes before the agreed trial lesson, she sent a Zoom link and informed us she would need to change the lesson time in two weeks.
I contacted Hack My Course for another tutor because I need dependable, consistent support for my child. Their manager apologized for “scheduling uncertainty” but told me they had no other Psychology tutor and asked us to seek elsewhere. That means there was never a real pool of tutors to “match” us from and they were just misleading us.
After completing their intake process, providing payment information, and spent so much time trying to communicate with their assigned tutor, it was extremely frustrating to learn that there were no alternative tutors. They should have been upfront about their limited availability from the beginning. Instead, we wasted almost two weeks without securing a tutor.
Definitely don't recommend their service. We've had way better experience with other tutoring services for other subjects. Hack My Course turned to be a big disappointment.
