Key Currency Ltd - extortionate commission - warning to others
Shocking experience. I did a very large fx deal (Euro-GBP) with Key Currency Ltd using proceeds from a property sale in Ireland. They took extortionate undeclared commission reducing the exchange rate to way below what even banks were offering!!!!!. Within 30 minutes of the deal being done and no change in the market, I found that I was horrifically robbed. This felt very much like criminality. Key Currency would not reverse the fx deal, even when I proved to them the far superior fx rate their competitors were giving at the same date/time the fx deal was done, Their only interest was commission and helping themselves to a very large, undeclared, sum of my money .How dare they do this to an innocent consumer who relied on their so called excellent reviews. They have categorically refused to confirm the commission taken, absolute cowboys. Key Currency advertise widely that they are regulated by the FCA but they don't say that commission is not a regulated activity so customers are not protected? Key Currency offered a derisory settlement on the basis I take down my Trust Pilot reviews/other online reviews. I refused as the offer was an insult in comparison to the money that was cheated from me.I also felt a moral obligation to warn others. I have seen a number of negative reviews fly off of Trust Pilot and in my opinion it is obvious what is happening. I personally do not believe many of the positive reviews are genuine, the negative reviews are the ones to be trusted. My advice is not to do an fx deal with Key Currency and go elsewhere.
