C.O.R.E. Reset course
Where I was previously
My nervous system was functional but tired. Not dramatic burnout, more the low-grade hum that never quite switched off. Sleep was light and easily disturbed, my mind alert at three in the morning, like a radio stuck between stations. Patience was thinner than I’d like to admit, especially under pressure.
I could still work, think, and care, but everything cost more energy than it should. My body was doing its best to cope, while quietly signalling that it had been compensating for too long
The turning point after doing C.O.R.E.
The turning point wasn’t a single breakthrough moment. It was the accumulation of small, well-timed pauses. The moment I realised I wasn’t being asked to fix myself, only to notice myself, something settled.
The consistent return to awareness, without judgment, softened internal resistance. That’s where the system began to downshift. Not through effort, but through permission.
What life is like now
Life now has more internal margin. There’s space between stimulus and response again. I notice my body sooner, listen faster, and recover more easily.
Clarity feels quieter but more reliable. Decisions land with less friction. Connection with others feels less reactive and more present. There’s a steadiness that wasn’t forced into place, it arrived because my nervous system finally felt safe enough to stand down. I go back to some of the C.O.R.E. tools often to revise and consolidate my knowledge how to be kind to myself and my nervous system.
