Serious Deposit Dispute — Proceed With Caution
⚠️
We rented an RV from RV Fun Rental for Burning Man and had a deeply troubling experience with the company’s handling of our security deposit.
We returned the RV in good condition and without damage. In fact, their own manager, Miguel, personally inspected the vehicle upon return and told us that it was in excellent condition and “cleaner than anyone we have ever received.” Despite this, the company subsequently withheld our entire $5,000 security deposit and has failed to provide a satisfactory explanation or resolution.
Since returning the RV, we have made repeated attempts to contact the company by email and phone. Our communications have gone unanswered. We also dispute additional charges associated with the rental and have documentation supporting our position.
At this point, we are pursuing the matter through the appropriate consumer-protection and regulatory channels and are evaluating legal action to recover the funds.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting from this company to carefully document the condition of the RV at pickup and return, keep every communication in writing, and understand exactly how the security deposit is handled before signing a contract.
We have retained our photographs, communications, payment records, rental documents, and other evidence related to this dispute.
Our experience has been extremely disappointing, and we would not rent from this company again based on how this deposit dispute has been handled.
