Scam Alert - avoid this company at all costs Matthew Thomas (Matt) of M.A.T Welding and Fabricating Services Ltd based in Castle Donington agreed to refurbish my metal gates and requested a large deposit which, against my better judgement but in good faith, I paid. Having failed to arrive on the agreed date he then decided to invent a disagreement and cancelled the job. Despite saying he would refund the deposit, and after my repeated requests, he has not done so. I suspect he never planned to and I can only therefore conclude he is a con man and fraudster! Research into his Companies House entry, including his addresses, reinforces that assumption! I have informed the police and he is now on their action fraud database and I have also notified Trading Standards and HMRC. His bank has been notified and I am in the process of initiating a claim via the Small Claims Court. I will not allow him to get away with this theft and I will do whatever it takes, and for as long as it takes, to recover the money. I write this review so others that might be considering using him are aware and to consider finding someone else. If you do decide to use this fraudster, be careful and do not pay anything up front. In the British Army we live by certain values including respect for others (treating people with fairness, kindness and consideration) and integrity (being honest and trustworthy). These are traits this man clearly does not possess!
