Dealer Service or Peter Maybe BMW? I had a drivetrain warning light on my F40 M135i come on in September 24. The dealer fixed the problem by replacing the turbo watergate actuator at considerable expense. 11 months later in August 25 the same driveline warning light came on. I suspected the same problem and tried to engage the dealer in analysis as it might have been a warranty claim. I was told the first available slot was in 5 weeks. The car was driveable in ‘limp’ mode. Finally after 5 weeks the dealer analysis claimed a turbo failure and a replacement cost of $9,500. No prospect of warranty. I questioned the analysis and was told that they had inspected the turbo internals via the wastgate dump pipe. No report was provided despite a cost of $300. I took my car the Greg as I was uncomfortable with the cost, depth of analysis and believe-ability. Needles to say Greg at Peter Maybe BMW diagnosed as a faulty electrical connection to the turbo waste gate. The dealer experience was terrible. Thankfully the Peter Maybe experience was 5 star.
