Two personalized trips with Totally Spain We have enjoyedtwo trips with Belén at Totally Spain - the first to Madrid, Barcelona and Andalucia; the second to Barcelona and Portugal. Belén really listened and took a lot of time, care and communication to personalize our trips. Both were 18 or more days, with private drivers and guides and the occasional, high-quality, group experience. Our relationship with Belén always feels as much a personal one as a professional one. I'm always impressed by the way she answers our questions mid-trip: quickly, honestly, and with valuable information beyond the specific question.

Dear Joel,

Thank you for your kind review and I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

It’s been a pleasure working with you on both trips, and I’m glad to hear the planning, guides, and support along the way have made a difference. The fact that you’ve come back to us for a second long itinerary says a great deal, and it means a lot.

Looking forward to helping with the next chapter whenever you're ready for Spain and/ or Portugal again.

Warm regards,
Belén

Trip Summary:

Joel’s second tailor-made journey with Totally Spain was a rich 18-day cultural and culinary exploration of Portugal, beginning with four nights in vibrant Barcelona before flying to Porto and diving into the heart of Portugal’s traditions and landscapes.

In Porto, private walking and panoramic tours unveiled the city's historic charm, complemented by a Fado show and a full-day excursion through the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley—with a boat ride, quinta visit, wine tasting, and traditional lunch. From there, Joel and his travel companion explored Viseu, Santar’s Vila Jardim gardens and winery, and coastal towns like Aveiro and Costa Nova, all with private transfers and well-paced free time.

The journey continued south with visits to medieval Belmonte and Trancoso before a two-night stay in the walled town of Óbidos, followed by private guided day trips to Tomar’s Convent of Christ and the historic synagogue.

The final four nights were spent in Lisbon, where a mix of guided panoramic tours and gastronomic walking experiences brought the capital to life. Day trips to Sintra, Cascais, and Évora completed the itinerary—with all logistics and entrance tickets seamlessly arranged.

A beautifully layered trip through Portugal, combining regional depth, seamless planning, and a thoughtful balance of independence and expert guidance.
