Dry Force véleménye

Invoiced for excess charges I had a water leak in my home and used DryForce for the mitigation and restoration. The main issue I had is that DryForce invoiced the mitigation costs as $27K which my insurance carrier found unacceptable. It went to a 3rd party mediator and the parties eventually settled on $18K. DryForce then billed me the difference minus a $3K courtesy waiver. In getting the documentation from DryForce, my insurance, and the mediator it is clear what happened. The water damage was extensive enough that my hardwood floors needed replaced and the insurance carrier only required that DryForce show a reasonable attempt to dry the floors before submitting for replacement. However, DryForce left the drying equipment for 5 full days despite the readings clearly showing the floors were not drying. So during mediation, they asked DryForce to provide rationale for the excessive drying since they were already willing to pay for the removal and replacement of the hardwood flooring. Here is DryForce's exact response to them "We will always attempt to dry the wood floors. This invoice has been reduced by $3,250.71 already. The customer has paid us $$23,811.48 and we waived the rest. We will not be reducing it any further." So you can see there was no attempt to answer the insurance carrier's questions as to why dry for 5 days when 3 would have been sufficient. So by not answering the question, the insurance does not pay, but DryForce will then just stand behind the contract customers have to sign and bill the customer for the difference, so there is actually no incentive for DryForce to actually respond to the insurance carrier, as they get paid either way. Second, DryForce's response was simply not true as I had not paid DryForce in full so not sure wny there were trying to use my payment as rationale for insurance to pick up the excessive drying tab. My main complaint came once they started invoicing me for the difference. At first they claimed I could dispute each line item if I provided justification. Then when asked which line item the $3K waiver was against, I was told that if I disputed their invoice then the waiver would be removed as "My time and resources are not without cost." All attempts to escalate the situation beyond the billing department went unanswered. So beware, the contract you sign will be used against you to pay whatever they invoice, or they will threaten with a lien on your home. It makes no difference whether it is covered by insurance or not, whether it is fair and reasonable, whether it is excessive to industry standards, or whether they adequately represented you during mediation.
