Bought a new Pentair Plus 30 salt cell for $1100+
It worked great—until it didn’t. Died after just six weeks. Golden Pool told me that because I didn’t hire a “pool professional” to install it—they won’t help.
That’s weird because the salt cell is literally described as a “drop-in” replacement for the old Pentair model. Installing the salt cell by yourself is what people do every time they clean it.
Turns out that the new Pentair salt cells are identified on-line as very problematic. They’ve got known issues.
The lack of help from Golden Pools is really disappointing. Will not be doing business with them again.

On Thursday, July 14th, we wrote to you requesting information about your order, which was never answered. We have never spoken to you in any other way, nor is it true that you must have the Pentair units installed by a certified professional, although this does help in terms of warranty, since, as you know, it is conditional and they handle it independently of our company.
