Excellent leadership
I worked as a team lead, and István was both my direct superior and my mentor. I had the privilege of being mentored by him for a long period of time, during which we met regularly to discuss my professional development and the challenges I was facing in my role.
From the very beginning, István took the time to listen carefully to the issues I brought up, and in the early stages of our mentoring relationship, he often shared how he would approach similar situations himself. Throughout our conversations, he shared many stories and experiences from his own career, and I learned a great deal from them.
István also paid close attention to identifying my areas for improvement, and he provided me with relevant training materials to help me develop the specific skills I needed to grow in those areas.
Even during periods when I felt under pressure, I always sensed István's genuine support and his intention to help lighten my load. I felt heard and valued in every conversation we had.
As a team lead, one of the most valuable things I gained from our mentoring sessions was a better understanding of what my team members needed in order to feel truly motivated — and how to act on that understanding in practice.
Looking back, this mentoring relationship helped me grow significantly, both as a professional and as a leader. I am grateful for the guidance and the time István invested in me, and I am very satisfied with the results — I feel more confident and capable in my role today because of it.
