Years of learning and positive impact
I had the privilege of working with István for nine years, and I truly feel that his leadership by example and his guidance had an immensely positive impact on both my professional development and the way I approach problems.
I originally joined the team he was leading, and from the very beginning I felt that I was receiving support not only in completing the tasks at hand, but also in understanding how I could continue to grow and advance my career in the future. A great example of this is that everyone from our team at the time went on to make significant progress professionally. Every one of my former teammates eventually led teams of their own and achieved the career milestones they had been aiming for. So this is not just my personal experience—it was something I consistently observed across the entire team.
Even in situations that seemed completely hopeless, István never gave up. With remarkable determination, he would patiently revisit the same lessons, sometimes for years, until we finally understood them.
I learned a tremendous amount from him about approaching problems constructively. István not only has an exceptional ability to understand complex situations, but also to teach the mindset required to stop focusing on limitations and instead recognize opportunities. He consistently demonstrated this attitude during team meetings, and when a one-on-one conversation was needed, he never held back—he always did everything he could to make sure the message got across.
Through his own experiences and examples, I gained valuable insight into how the environment we work in really functions, which meant I didn't have to learn every lesson the hard way myself. It was a genuine mentor–mentee relationship, and over the years I benefited greatly from his consistent guidance in an encouraging and positive atmosphere. Thanks in no small part to his support, I grew from a Technical Support position into a confident DevOps Engineer.
Beyond the professional side, whenever I faced personal difficulties, he always made sure to offer a few supportive words and listened with genuine empathy. I am especially grateful for that, because he cared not only about the technical aspects of the job, but also about creating a workplace where people were treated with kindness and respect.
I will always consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to LEARN alongside him for so many years.
