I am still awaiting a discussion with a manager regarding my complaint. Everytime I contact any of the chat functions I get referred to them with no contact. No email. No phone number. Meaning no refund - despite specifically requesting the money was refunded to original payment method. The are holding my money ransom, only refunding to gift card so my money must then be spent with them.
Initially order not received within delivery timeframe. £5.99 paid for next day delivery. This was refunded to the original payment method as requested via customer services. Items no longer required due to their ineffectiveness and lack of ability to provide items as promised in the requested and paid for timeframe. Following this the items were returned and as discussed a refund for original payment method requested. This was not adhered to and a refund given on a gift card. Which was not what I stipulated.
I’m incredibly disappointed with my recent experience with Boohoo. I returned an item expecting a standard refund, yet Boohoo issued a voucher instead which was something I never requested or agreed to. This completely goes against what any reasonable customer would expect when returning a product.
To make matters worse, I have tried contacting customer service multiple times and haven’t received a single response. No explanation, no resolution and no acknowledgement of the issue. It feels like customers are being left to deal with problems on their own.
This situation raises serious concerns about Boohoo’s respect for basic consumer rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers should receive refunds in the original form of payment unless they explicitly agree otherwise. Issuing a voucher without consent may fall short of those standards, and it certainly falls short of good customer care.
Overall, this experience has been frustrating, time-consuming and entirely avoidable. I would strongly caution others to be careful when ordering from Boohoo, especially if you think you might need to return anything. Customer service and fair refund practices should be the bare minimum and Boohoo isn’t meeting that.
DO NOT PURCHASE! SUBSTANDARD ITEMS. AND THE SERVICE - THERE ARE NO APPROPRIATE WORDS!!!
