Corrosion after a few months? That’s not the coast — that’s bad quality. I completely understand that corrosion can happen, especially near the coast — that’s just part of living in South Africa. But when a PC starts showing corrosion and fails within only 5 to 9 months, that’s not normal wear and tear — that’s poor product quality. This computer was kept in a well-ventilated office about 1 km from the ocean, with a dehumidifier running 12 hours a day, silica gel inside the case, and even two other PCs in the same room that have worked perfectly for over a year, even before I bought this one. I’ve spent extra money on cooling, a fan, and a dehumidifier just to protect the system, yet the components still failed. I’m not expecting miracles, just reasonable durability for the money spent. If components are corroding this quickly, the issue isn’t the coastal air, it’s the quality of materials used.
