Shady business
I worked for this company for four years, so I had the opportunity to see how it operates from the inside. During that time, I became increasingly uncomfortable with the owner’s approach to business. In my opinion, profit consistently takes priority over fairness and long-term customer relationships.
I processed and closed out hundreds of invoices, and I often felt uneasy about what customers were being charged compared to actual material costs and labor involved. While every business needs to make a profit, there’s a difference between fair pricing and maximizing every dollar possible regardless of the impact on the customer.
Equipment and materials were frequently sourced from common retail stores such as Costco, Walmart, and Home Depot, then marked up significantly. Even when customers provided their own equipment, service pricing was often adjusted in a way that kept the overall cost in the same range.
To be fair, the technicians themselves are skilled and work hard. I would rate the team around a 7.5–8/10 in terms of workmanship. However, communication and pricing transparency are areas where improvement is needed.
Overall, I would encourage customers to do their research, ask detailed questions, and compare pricing before committing. In my experience, the less informed a customer is, the more they may end up paying.
