Outstanding staff
I gave them five stars for two reasons. Their employees, Joe and Josh. Those two made our stay great. Friendly, extremely helpful, and fun. They are probably the main reason we would book again at The Pines. As far as the resort itself I would give it 4 stars.
Pros:
Friendly staff, nice marina, quiet, excellent RV hookups, very clean shower/restrooms, fast internet, good fishing, dog friendly, very orderly assisted check in. They meet you at your RV and transport you via electric golf cart to the office. Then back to your rig and help you get in place at your campsite.
Cons:
Spendy. Everything seems a bit expensive. Sites will cost you 25% to 30% more than other resorts on the lake, plus a boat slip is not included (extra $20 daily), Ice $5 for about 4 lbs, firewood $9 a bundle.
No boat launch on site. You have to go to the public landing just up the road.
Very scarey STEEP hill up to the bluff sites, minuscule beach area and no pool.
If you go, I'd reserve a lake level site. They are adequate in size and the bluff sites are expensive plus the road going up and down is sketchy. A premier site comes with a golf cart included but the premium sites do not. (Available for another $35 daily) If you don't have young legs, walking up and down the big hill will get old fast. Overall had a good time, enjoyed ourselves. Would go back.
