Started w/ hope, ended with harm. Inconsistent care. Not Safe for Autistic/Trauma-Sensitive Patients As a late-diagnosed autistic adult with PTSD and ADHD, I came to MBO seeking neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed care. My first two providers were supportive and compassionate. They made an effort to understand my complex needs and helped me feel cautiously hopeful. Unfortunately, both providers left the clinic, and the transition was not handled with care. I was reassigned to PA Chiji Jon-Ubabuco, whose approach was dismissive and lacking in understanding of autism and trauma. He misinterpreted my speech challenges, which I clearly explained were due to autistic burnout, and gave me an ultimatum rather than a collaborative plan. I had no other psychiatric support at the time, and his approach felt coercive and unsafe. I’m giving 1 because the compassion I received in the beginning from the two practitioners are no longer there otherwise I would have given a 2. But the lack of continuity, sensitivity, and support when I was most vulnerable caused significant distress. MBO must do better for patients like me the harm of inconsistent care is real.
