NOT recommended - awful customer service and shipping experience
The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. While the site generally offers a good selection of products, handling of orders is as careless as it gets and customer support team is generally rude and unprofessional. Reading the other review now, it also seems to be a recurring issue recently.
While I appreciate that the transit process might not be under the full control of Gilt, I’d certainly expect that at least making the shipping arrangements would be.
I placed an order early on October 26 and was offered two options for the delivery: a regular one with the delivery on November 6-8 and an expedited one for an extra fee of $15 to receive the order by November 3-4. I opted and paid for the expedited one as the order was for a specific event. It’s November 6, and the item hasn’t even shipped yet! Over 11 days there has been no change in the status of the order from the moment I placed it.
Contacting the customer service team seems useless - for each email (within the scope of the already open and active customer service ticket!) they take ~2 business days to respond and do so in the most generic, copy-paste way (e.g. suggesting that next time the expected delivery time can be checked before placing an order…). I reached out to the customer support on November 1, flagging that likely there is an issue with processing the order, but until now, there’s been absolutely no progress except for those generic emails.
I’ve been Gilt’s customer since 2021, but after this experience do NOT recommend it at all. Very frustrating and disappointing.
