Horrible Customer Service and Shipping DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM
We ordered and L Shaped desk in September. When it was to be delivered at the end of October, we were told by the trucking company AM Trucking of a 4 hour window in which they were going to deliver no flexibility or way to work with us at all on the delivery. The delivery location is a 3 hour round trip at a vacation home and required me to take a half day off work. I showed up and they delivered the desk. Half of the desk was badly damaged and I refused delivery. The trucking company left the undamaged half of the desk at the house and despite the white glove delivery we paid for they left all of the trash for both the portions of the desk which we paid to get rid of. AFA furniture contacted us several days later to say they would order a replacement section to the damaged portion of the desk. We patiently waited and in November I took another half day off and half of a tank of gas to receive the portion of the desk with no flexibility on the delivery date or time. When it showed up it wasn't even the same model of the desk. Entirely different color and hardware. At this point I notified AFA to refund our money and pick up the remaining portion of the desk at our convenience this time. After 5 days of no response from AFA we finally were able to engage in a discussion with them at which point they agreed to process the refund. A little over a week went by and we did not see a refund and we reached out again only to five days for a response where they said it had been processed. It still did not go through and we reached out again to be told that they did not process the refund and will not until they pick up the remaining portion of the desk. We told them as we had several times that we will be happy to be there for them to pick up the desk but they need to call us and ask us what is convenient for pick up. Two weeks go by and we get a no reply email from AM Truck on 12/26 that they are picking up both portions of the desk (note we refused delivery of the second portion both times) on 12/30. It was the holidays and we did not confirm delivery as we were unable to meet their demand for a time and date. We immediately reached out to AFA on 12/26 that we were not available and the description of the pick-up is wrong it is only one item. We also told them we would be at the house on 1/17 and they could pick it up then without incurring potential court and back charges for our time and gas because of their errors. On 12/30 AM Trucking reached out to tell us that they were coming up to pick up the item and we told them we were not there and to pick it up on 1/17 they noted it and said OK. On 1/2 we finally heard back from AFA 5 days after our email that they will correct the pickup paperwork but no acknowledgment of working with us on a date and time for pick up. We responded again telling them that someone from either AFA or AM trucking will need to call us ahead of time to work out a schedule that works for us or they can meet us in court for the expenses we have incurred. Again, no response from AFA on this matter and on 1/9 we received and automated No Reply email that AM Trucking will be there on 1/13 for pick up. Again, I am unavailable to take the afternoon off and even if I did it would be at the cost to AFA. I run an engineering business and short notice and no coordination will not work. This has been explained to AFA many times. Once again, we responded to AFA with no response as usual. We have asked multiple times that AFA or the trucking company call to schedule the pick up at our convenience this time since I am already out 8 hours of work at $150/hour plus a tank of gas because they cannot get it right. All we have asked is a phone call and coordination for the pick-up. They are 100% at fault with not providing the desk as ordered and we gave them multiple opportunities to do so. We have since paid more for a similar desk from a company who has been much more responsive and helpful.
