Rust, damage and poor after-sales support from Window Boutique We had all our windows redone by Window Boutique. Since our property is located in a coastal town, we specifically requested that all fittings be made from stainless steel to prevent rust damage. Unfortunately, our experience has been very disappointing. The beaded strings for the blinds were initially made of plastic and could not support the weight of the blinds. The replacement metal beads began rusting within a month. The blinds themselves are extremely tight, often rolling up skew and damaging the material. One floor-to-ceiling blind doesn’t roll up at all. The curtain rods also rusted because they were not made from stainless steel as requested. Most concerning was the damage caused to our frameless Sunflex doors — the blinds were attached directly to the main frame with screws, which irreparably damaged the track. We had to pay R8000 for repairs through Sunflex. When we contacted Window Boutique to reinstall the blinds correctly, the customer service was extremely poor. The damage was not acknowledged or resolved. Overall, we are deeply dissatisfied with both the workmanship and customer service received, especially given our clear specifications for coastal durability.
