Warning! Lack of Refund Transparency
WARNING!! DO NOT PURCHASE A FULLY REFUNDABLE TICKET FROM HOPPER!! IT IS NOT STATED IN THEIR POLICY TO MAKE THE CUSTOMER WAIT FOR 2-3 MONTHS TO RECEIVE THE REFUND! IT IS A RIDICULOUS POLICY AND THE RULES ACCORDING TO NTA (NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY, THE REFUNDS MUST BE PROCESSED BETWEEN 7-20
CALENDAR DAYS!!
I purchased a fully refundable airline ticket through the Hopper app. Hopper has acknowledged that I am due the refund. However they are making me wait 2-3 months to receive it. This is a ridiculous amount of time for $363. I have complained numerous times but they keep giving me the same answer. Nowhere does it say on their website that refunds take 2-3 months. See below for their response. I also reached out to Avianca Airlines and they have put the responsibility solely on Hopper USA.
This is Hopper’s response.
Hopper: “Thank you for reaching out to us for an update on your refund request. We sincerely apologize for the wait and any inconvenience this may be causing. Please note that we’ve already submitted the request to the airline for processing on their end. While the standard timeframe provided is 60–90 days, refunds are often completed within approximately one month”.
It’s been 6 weeks and counting…
