Unprofessional experience.
I applied for a job online, but the actual employer wasn’t listed - only Zachary Daniels Recruitment. A few hours later I received an email saying they had an opportunity in retail management, which wasn’t even the role I applied for. They later explained that this was an automated response and arranged a phone call.
The recruiter called me after hours, from his car, asking about information that was already clearly stated on my CV. Eventually it turned out the call was about the job I applied for, but it wasn’t with the employer I had hoped for.
I asked to be contacted by email going forward because I don’t usually answer personal calls during work. That request was ignored, and I received several voicemails asking me to call back. I agreed to an interview anyway. The interview went fine, though I wasn’t overly enthusiastic, so I didn’t expect much.
The employer said they would get back to me by Friday (the interview was on Tuesday). Friday passed, then Monday and Tuesday. Zachary Daniels called again and left another voicemail saying they had feedback. I texted back asking for an email update, still no response to this day (it's been 7 weeks).
I’m not upset about the interview outcome, but the whole process was handled poorly. My time was wasted, and my clear request for email communication was repeatedly ignored. I’m aware recruitment agencies work on commission, which might explain why they were so pushy, but it doesn’t justify the lack of professionalism.
