Medicapilar have stolen €5.529.00 from me and are refusing to pay it back
On March 2025 I had paid a total of €5.529.00 to MediCapilar for a potential hair transplant due on 23-May-2025.
However, on the 14-May-2025 I begun having sharp pains around my groin area, and subsequently went to see a doctor for exams. After multiple thorough medical exams which took a few weeks to complete, I was informed that I had an hernia and needed an urgent surgery.
In addition, the doctor verbalised to me that I should cancel the hair transplant until further notice.
After the recent unfortunate news, I had immediately informed MediCapilar, and asked if I could have a refund in the meantime!
To my dismay, a MediCapilar nurse named Barabara Lima told me MediCapilar wouldn't be able to give me a refund, because I had inform them a day prior to the scheduled hair transplant procedure.
Barabara Lima's statement was clearly false, because I had sent them a message on the 21-May-2025 as you can see from the attachments named, " WhatsApp exchange 1a.JPG " through to " WhatsApp exchange 4.JPG "
It is worth noting that, I was only able to complete all the multiple medical exams required by the 21-May-2025.
Later, Barabara Lima tried to convince me to still have the transplant even though I had told her I no longer needed one, as my hair started to grow back.
To avoid refunding me, Barbara and MediCapilar persuaded me to try to sell the €5.529.00 transplant package to someone I potentially knew. Once I had tried and didn't succeed, I had told them so, and continued to ask for my refund.
She then suggested me to take other forms of hair treatment offered by the clinic so they could avoid refunding me. I told her I was not interested.
Subsequently, I've emailed their customer support (gestaopaciente) and Rui Sabino Sabino (the company founder) to try to mitigate the situation amicably.
To my dismay, they're still refusing to refund me whilst trying to force me to undergo a hair treatment I don't require.
MediCapilar illegal tactics are clearly against EU and Portugal consumer laws. Hence, I will be seeking legal action against them!
