booking.com promotes fraud Booking .com promoted property as a new one with additional 20 % discount. There was information on front picture ro contact host for booking. Host info with what’s app number was given in booking.comhost info section. Also on booking.com fake property page was info that all booking requested through portal will be cancelled. This was the only tru information. As I dis not follow advices and requested booking through booking .com twice- both were cancelled. Only then I have noticed info that to book this property I need to contact host directly. As this was info from booking.com I did so. Host replied in about 1 h. He confirmed, apartment was still available. Host proposed to send me link for payment via PayPal or booking.com portal. I requested booking.com link and such I have received. Link while payment looked just like booking.com page.- this is the only screen shot i am missing. Payment went out on but host seemed not to see it on his end. I started to be suspicious and I refused to do it second time, and I even requested to cancel this booking as I did not receive any confirmation. Next I called my bank. As money was still not processed bank took out block and for a while i saw money back on my account. Unfortunately some time later money went out. Host stopped replying to my messages. I contacted booking .com on Sunday Oct 14 and informed about this situation. I understood at that point my money was most likely lost but as the profile of the property was still available at booking.com there might be others like me. Booking.com representative promised to take care about it. It was Sunday. On Tuesday the property was still on Booking.com. I called booking .com again. I had asked about progress and received information that all is taken care about. Meanwhile i made claim in the bank to transaction for host and I went to police and had reported the case. On Friday bank declined my claim. On Friday Oct 18 I started again look for apartment for my stay in Dublin. The apartment was still there!!!! Still with promotion for a new property, with host info, with advice to contact host directly for booking!!! All that still available on booking.com. I called again, this time with some anger that booking .com does not care, not just about me, but other clients as well. Agent was very understanding, he sis found my messages. He confirmed nothing was done to prevent others from being robbed. Not just robbed, robbed thanks to trust to booking.com. Agent saw it and tried to do all possible to prevent it from happening and refund my money. On Saturday I have noticed picture with advise to contact host directly was taken down from property profile. Also there was information in red no booking in the property can be done. Today October 21st I received information that booking.com did not have any part of me being robbed. Maybe…. But I will put this case public. It takes a week to react… A week to still money from someone else.
