A decision I regret
Paid nearly €2,000 for a “bespoke” wedding tux from Hunter Treacy Tailors and was left hugely disappointed. I chose to support a local business on my wife’s suggestion, instead of going to a more established tailor - a decision I regret.
At just about every one of the many fittings, Sean would ask when and where the wedding was, details I had already shared multiple times. When elements of the suit weren’t correct, he often made me feel uncomfortable for pointing them out, and at one stage even claimed I hadn’t requested a particular detail - despite the fact that I had already paid an additional fee for it. This combination of forgetfulness and defensiveness made the process unnecessarily stressful.
Despite multiple fittings and clear communication, the jacket wasn’t anything like what I had asked for. I even had to make diagrams because the actual tailors in Italy didn’t seem to understand what Sean was trying to explain to them. He assured me the process would take 6-8 weeks; the tuxedo was only ready a few days before the wedding in September, despite being paid for in full back in March 2025.
To make matters worse, the trousers tore at the wedding reception. I informed Sean afterwards and sent photos, but received no reply. I reached out a second time, but once again, he couldn’t be bothered to respond. Overall, I found the experience disorganised, frustrating, and not reflective of what I expected for the price paid.
If you want a genuinely bespoke suit, go to an actual tailor, not a service that just sends your measurements abroad.
