Ty the landlord is working his hardest to make the black cross the place to be, with a desperate need for a refurbishment he is making great progress and hopefully the brewery will invest in this 17th century coaching inn - the oldest still trading in bromsgrove!

Many rooms to choose from if you want a peaceful pint.
But sadly the carling was very off. Looked around and noticed no one but me was drinking Carling so beware when entering.

Hi Jamie, this week we have sold at least 200 pints of carling and a fair few across each day, if only you'd have highlighted this to staff perhaps we could have provided you with an alternative drink to your liking or simply tried another carling in a new glass - next time you visit maybe communicate with staff and we will see if we can replace that pint for you, so you can see how good our beer actually is!

I would highly recommend this place for casual occasions for drinks or food! Discos, karaoke, bands, food is great, staff are friendly and the beer garden is great for the summer!

We ordered a delivery last Sunday excellent roast beef dinner, lovely gravy and the gammon came with the best chips we've had in a long time best in Bromsgrove will be ordering again tomorrow 😋😋😋👏👍

One of if not the best pub in Bromsgrove. Food is always amazing and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Staff are friendly and management seems to go above and beyond. If you’re in the area I highly recommend paying a visit.

If your looking for a pub with a lot of history, friendly atmosphere and great authentic aesthetics try this place, you wont be disappointed.
Very friendly pub, all the punters and bar staff all very nice and friendly. I was only there for one drink but wow, I didn't realise that this pub was so old and friendly.

Have known this place for 35years and have never been so disappointed. We are not moaney people I have to say firstly!!!we were in the front bar and our drinks were done in the back bar out of sight which I didn't like .All four of us thought our drinks were weak and didn't enjoy .I actually left most of mine ! When I asked the barmaid if my spirit was a double as ordered she replyed "yeah" and had such a bad attitude.I was really disapointed as I love this old place .

Firstly, since operating the black cross since 2019 we have never been able to use the draught and postmix in the front bar due to issues regarding new equipment being needed, this has been the same since 2019, whilst it isn't ideal having to do this, the work involved to have these draught pumps renewed and reconnected involves architects, lots of planning permission due to being grade 2 listed and of course space - which we don't have a lot of under our bar or in our cellar. We have to serve from one bar to ease staff having to make half in one bar and half in the other, you are more than welcome to pop into the other bar to watch your drinks be made, however I understand your concerns and I am working towards a solution.
To help find a solution for you, could you kindly email us at yeoldeblackcross.bromsgrove@phoenixpub.co.uk and we can discuss and hopefully bring you back.
I can only apologise if the staff member came across rude, we are bound by the weights and measures act and therefore couldn't have short measured you without risking hefty fines and also breaking the law, however you should have been reassured rather than what you described.

Parents and friends visited on Saturday, 21st January, and the drinks were disgusting. They were poured out of the back, which was strange considering all drinks were available at the bar they were served from. When questioned the staff weren't bothered so left the drinks on the bar as they weren't fit to be consumed! What a waste of £28.

This was our first visit to this pub after moving to bromsgrove had a Sunday dinner I had lamb my wife had the beef both were excellent good choice of beers will definitely visit again

Visited the olde black cross at Bromsgrove today and the four of us had four different meals which where out standing and all home cooking, l am a vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for me, staff where friendly and helpful.
