I rode with these guys from Cape Town to Victoria falls in August and september 2024. The tour was well organized and the guide was excellent. The accommodations varied depending on where we ended up that day, but all were excellent for what they were. Our group was just the best and we are all still in touch. We developed an excellent sense of camaraderie. I totally recommend ride down south.

I organised a one day tour to visit the Cape of Good Hope and enjoyed the experience so much I did another one a few days later! Mike my tour guide was excellent, both his knowledge and stopping at key points for photo shoots as the scenery was spectacular! Nice well prepared bike. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed the two days and would heartily recommend this company! Can’t wait to visit South Africa again!

Finding myself in South Africa for a short business trip I had a day free to explore. The choice was between a tour bus or something more adventurous. So I contacted Andrew at Ride Down South in the hope he may be able to squeeze me in for a one day tour of the western Cape. In short order he confirmed Michael was free along with an Africa Twin for the day, so all was booked. Meeting Michael at 8am and discussing my desires re places to see and suggestions from him we set off on what was to be one of the best day rides of my life. Riding out to Muizenberg for coffee we then headed to Boulders Beach to see the penguins followed by Cape Point for the amazing views and the obligatory photo stop, riding the funicular to the lighthouse. Being a tad peckish by this time we headed to The Hatchery for the most amazing ostrich burger for lunch, a must stop. We then headed round a quite incredible road leading to Chapmans Peak followed by Camps bay. The day rounded off passing Mount Nelson Hotel and back to base. If only the day could have been longer. Michael, my guide, was an incredible host, riding companion, guide, historian and all round amazing individual. Thank you for one of the best days of my life in a country that just begs to be explored with scenery to die for. If like me you are an avid biker, love to explore and just want an incredible time then I highly recommend Ride Down South, and I would suggest ask for Michael to be your tour guide 😉. I went on a tour with RideDownSouth for 21 days in August and September this year. Drove from Cape Town to Lusaka, 3000 plus miles. Was an incredible adventure!

Recently, we did a fourteen days trip starting in Cape Town, crossing Namibia and finishing in Naum, Botswana. Certainly, it was the best adventure trip that I had, very well organized, no problems whatsoever. If you're looking for the best option to travel Africa riding motorcycles, search no more. Andrew and his team provided us with the most amazing experience one could expect regarding motorcycle trips through Africa. Since the first contact his level of professionalism was high. Negotiating such deal for 6 motorcycles - as was our case - only using whatsapp is always a little tense, once we are dealing with someone we don't know, on the other side of the world, and we have to send money in advance trusting that everything will work fine. Well, with Andrew and Ride Down South, the expectations were always exceeded. The route planned was amazing, with the perfect level of challenging and scenic routes, the hotels and lodges along the way were simply amazing, the food was outstanding and the tour guide was competent, friedly and always connected to the group's needs. I can't recomend enough Ride Down South for your adventure in Sout Africa. Thanks, Andrew and guys, for organizing one of the best experiences on two wheels our group have had in life! :-)

Malawi to Capetown ending 3 September 2022. What a great trip with 2 mates and guide Andrew who became a mate over that time. Well organised with a schedule that balanced travel needs and road/terrain variety with “touristy” activities on the spaced out rest days. It really was a pleasant surprise each day with high quality accommodation each night. Reviewing the photos makes me want to do it again or book another trip with Andrew through RDS.

If anyone is interested in doing a motorcycle trip in Africa I highly recommend Ride Down South, and Andrew Vaughan, the owner and main guide. I've followed Andrew for over 18000 km on three rides, through ten African countries and hope to see a lot more. Andrew puts his heart and soul into every trip, ensuring that his guests are well and truly satisfied. His route selections are well matched to the capabilities of the riders, whilst still offering some challenges. His choices of accommodation are first class. It's a true getaway experience, your everyday worries will soon be forgotten as you focus on the road ahead.

Rode from Lilongwe Malawi through Mozambique and South Africa to Cape Town with Andrew Vaughan. 24 days, over 6,000km of fantastic riding with plenty of variety. Andrew is a great tour leader, well organized & made sure everyone was OK at all times. Fantastic scenery and wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Best trip ever... I did a two week tour from Cape Town to Windhoek with Andrew and Ride Down South. It was possibly the most memorable trip of my life. The riding itself a blast, the landscape was like nothing I have ever seen and logistically the trip went off without a hitch. Andy is both a highly experienced guide who knows the region well and a friendly laid back travel partner who makes long days on the road a pleasure... I went into the trip a bit concerned about my riding level (specifically on gravel roads) but Andy never put me in situations I couldn’t handle and was very patient when I did have questions/concerns. I never felt pressured or rushed… Last point, Andrew offers fantastic value. His prices are among the lowest of the motorcycle outfitters in South Africa/Namibia and he is honest and transparent. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in doing a motorcycle tour to plan their trip directly with Andy/Ride Down South. There is no need for middle men as he personally owns the bikes you ride and plans/executes the tours himself. FIVE STARS

I recently did a 14 day Cape Town to Windhoek, Namibia trip with Ride Down South and it was honestly one of the best adventures I've done. Andy is a great guide, a very chilled character that makes the whole experience enjoyable, and confidence inspiring, especially riding on gravel and sand for the first time. The level of accommodation was spot on, the bike made easy work of the circa 3000km and everything felt well organised and safe. I'll definitely be doing another trip with Andy in the future!

Cape to Kruger trip was one of the best experiences of my life
