Superleuke trip gehad in 2020, waar ik nog vaak aan terug moet denken. Jonne en Marthe hebben de perfecte plek gevonden voor een surfkamp. Het landschap, het weer, de dieren, de zee... Het hield maar niet op. Enorme aanrader!

Ik ben niet echt van de reviews schrijven, maar door Facebook werd ik herinnerd aan een heerlijke tijd in Costa rica met mokum surf club. Ik kreeg de herinneringen in de vorm van foto’s te zien op mijn tijdlijn en werd toch getriggerd om een review te schrijven als een soort van dankwoord. De prachtige foto’s en meteen het heerlijke gevoel wat mij bekroop van de fijne tijd daar. Met de leuke mensen en de organisatie aldaar. Wat een heerlijke herinnering is mij daar toebedeeld, zoveel kunnen doen, zoveel gedaan! Super!

Jonne and Marthe did a great job of making making us feel at home. The food was amazing and each day was jam packed full of adventures and sightseeing. The surfing was great and they accommodated all levels of surfing, me being a beginner and my friend being an advanced. The daily yoga served as a perfect mental and physical reset after a long day of surfing. The horseback riding was my favorite day as we got to experience the jungle terrain of Costa Rica with the locals. Highly recommend if you are looking for a one of a kind local Costa Rican experience!

Marthe and Jonne have created a truly incredible experience in Pavones, Costa Rica. They are such gems and it seems that they have thought of absolutely everything. This was my first retreat and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more! Our days were perfectly planned with just the right amount of surf, adventure, and time to relax by the pool or practice some much needed yoga. Our surf instructors and the few nights of video analysis were great and really helped a beginner like myself to see what little tweaks needed to be made. Our accommodations were beautiful, clean, and well maintained during our stay. Laundry service was available as well. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle made early wake ups a breeze. We even got to see a family of monkeys come through most mornings! Every meal was fresh and flavorful using healthy ingredients prepared by local friends of Marthe and Jonne. My friend and I both had specific dietary restrictions and felt that everyone was very accommodating. The times spent gathering around the table were some of the best moments we shared. Lots of laughs and great meals amongst new friends. You can tell the bonds that Marthe and Jonne share with everyone we came across are very special and it was a honor to be a part of such a magical experience. Pavones is a beautiful piece of paradise I’m grateful I got to explore. I can’t recommend Mokum Surf Club enough and can’t wait to return. Thank you so much!

My friend and I did a week long retreat with Mokum and it was one of the best trips I have ever taken! I have done a few retreats in the past but this trip exceeded my expectations! It was perfectly balanced between activities and relaxation. The house we stayed in was beautiful and spacious, allowing everyone space to join together and also have quiet/alone time when needed. Our meals were deliciously prepared with love by the hosts and locals- with all fresh and healthy ingredients. They were very accommodating with our dietary restrictions and requests! We felt very safe in this beautiful town. Marthe & Jonne made us all feel like life long friends and are amazing people! The vacation was seamless. It was well organized with activities but also flexible. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience a fun filled vacation of surfing, yoga and a local experience of Pavones! We cannot wait to return in the future!

I joined the retreat in punta banco - south of Costa Rica- in 2020. The retreat gives you what to expect and even better, don’t miss out, don’t hesitate you will not regret this. Just go for it ! ♥️

Wow! What a great experience with Jonne and Marthe. Where to start? The great people from Pavones, both the surf instructor and other local people we came across. The surfing was great, as a beginner for me it was great to pick up new skills and I believe for more advanced surfers there is much fun too as you can choose for both reef and beach break waves. You can see that Jonne and Marthe really put effort in their work. Both for you as a guest and for the local people that live and work in Pavones. There is a lot of wildlife to find in the area as you would notice when falling asleep and waking up by the sounds of the rainforest. Don't hesitate! Go with Mokum Surf Club!

I’ve been to the Costa Rica surf retreat twice and the experience was amazing. Beautiful country, horse back riding, hiking, yoga, great food, and incredible surfing. Jonne and Marthe was exceptional hosts and the accommodations were perfect. It was an adventure that I’ll never forget, I highly recommend it.

Marthe and John are the best couple you’ve could ask to host. Always caring a smile and keen to know everything about the beautiful area of Sintra. Very friendly and open to give a hand to the staff on every single task. Their surf skills allowed them to explore a bit the different surf spots with different levels Sintra has to offer. We invited them to stay with us for a week and they have done an amazing video and photo coverage. Super talented and professionals. Of all our travells Costa Rica has been one of the most unforfettable. Jonne and Marthe welcomed us in a beautifull accommodation in the jungle just by the ocean. Each morning we would wake up by the sounds of the jungle. Not only the surfing but also the horseriding trip was super. We have seen monkey's, sluths, ara's, Morpho butterfly's, pelican's, dolphins and an anteater. We enjoyed the fresh local food, cooked by local women from the village nearby, with the nice group we were with. This was a very special experience.

Een onvergetelijk mooie reis naar Costa Rica. Prachtige locatie en Jonne & Marthe zorgen voor de ultieme belevenis. Een groot avontuur: leren surfen 🏄‍♀️ schildpadden die uitkomen 🐢 heerlijk eten 🥘 de mooiste zonsondergangen 🌅 en als hoogte punt voor mij; paardrijden door de jungle 🐴 🌴 (terwijl ik nog nooit paard had gereden!) Een echte aanrader of je nou in je eentje op avontuur wil of met vrienden!

Mokum surf club has been a once in a lifetime experience. I truly enjoyed my time in Costa Rica surfing, doing yoga, horseback riding and other activities while getting to know cool new people and discovering the country and its culture from a unique location and without worrying about organizing anything. Going to Punta Banco was amazing. This part of the country it’s wild and remote, yet magical and mesmerizing. If you’re looking for a quiet an not crowded place, this is it. Once I got there I felt myself immersed in the tropical forest and its spell of lush flora and diverse game. The house was beautiful with all the amenities, even a pool. It felt like a piece of heaven on earth. Marta & John provided a delightful experience from head to toe. They took care of every single detail. From managing the guides and activities such as taking on a boat ride to Matapalo (Osa peninsula) for hiking or surfing in quiet and private feeling spots to horseback riding in Punta bancos’s forests to soak in hidden waterfalls, while arranging all the food and transportation for all the activities. They are both great ambassadors of Costa Rica and they made me feel welcomed and well care taken. Thank you guys for such a great adventure. I will definitely sign up again in one of your tours. I had the most incredible time in Costa Rica with Mokum Surf Club! The southern region where the travel agency is based is undoubtedly one of the most lush and green places I have ever seen. It was such a joy to experience it for myself with two of my friends. The retreats offered by Mokum Surf Club were perfect for our group, and we all had a great time learning to surf. The surf lessons were of great quality, and I learned so much in just one week. While all the activities we did were amazing, my favorite experience was the horseback riding trip with Wilber. It was an absolute thrill to ride a horse through the jungle and on the deserted beaches between Costa Rica and Panama. The views were breathtaking, and I will always cherish that memory. As avid birdwatchers, my friends and I were hoping to see some magical birds in Costa Rica. We were not disappointed. The view from our villa was perfect for birdwatching, and every morning we would wake up early to the sound of howler monkeys, and other wild animals, and sit in the garden with a delicious cup of Costa Rican coffee. We spotted so many Scarlet Macaws and other colorful birds, it was a truly memorable experience. Overall, our time there was the trip of a lifetime. The landscapes were stunning, the people were so friendly, the wildlife was incredible, and the experiences were unforgettable. If you're ever looking for a way to reconnect with nature and have an adventure with your friends, I highly recommend checking out Mokum Surf Club in southern Costa Rica. Bjørn Andreassen
