Planning Appraisal for the erection of a Rooftop Terrace I used Homz services to get pre-planning application advice on a rooftop terrace project in London. The service was straightforward and professional. After providing basic project details online, they researched relevant past applications in my local Authority before a follow-up phone call which was a good opportunity to discuss their insights and share my own ideas and expectations. Although, I was already familiar with most of their recommendations and that no similar project have been submitted before, they provided a detailed and professional report a few days later. Overall, a smooth and informative process and I will very probably use their service to manage my planning application.

Condescending and unprofessional I reached out for a quote for scaled drawings for a garden wall and driveway, only required due to the proximity to a listed building. The quote was provided quickly, which was appreciated, but at £850, it was beyond what I expected for the project’s size. A representative called to follow up and when I tried to politely decline, due to the cost, they responded in a tone that I found quite condescending, essentially challenging me to attempt it myself as I must be a qualified architect. I did, and my plans were validated for a fraction of the cost, £5 for a pad of graph paper and 2-3 hours of careful measuring and drawing. If my polite decline had been accepted I wouldn't have needed to write this review but the condescending and unprofessional manner in which I was spoken to will stop me ever revisiting this company.

We used Homz for act on our behalf when seeking planning permission for our property. They were able to submit our application between 7-10days. At first I was hesitant as they were a company I had not heard of before and they were soley based online. However, I signed up for the initial telephone consultation with a lady called Chadernnay, who was professional and very knowledgeable. After our consultation, we felt a little more confident and decided to go with them. Chadernnay continued to be our contact and was able to advise promptly and hold our hand through the whole process. I am please to report that our application was successful. I would 100% recommend using Homz. Thank you again to Chadernnay and the team.

Homz's pre-application planning appraisal includes research into the local area and a thorough debrief with a planning consultant. Very competitively priced and an excellent service. ##### UPDATE ##### Unfortuantely, the rest of their service falls very far short of expectations. They do very little, and when there was a delay in my applicatoin they refused to continue unless I paid them another fee. They were surly and rude, and gave me the impression that they couldn't care less whether my applicaiton went through or not. I am glad that I hired them, because I believe their planning expertise means that the application is positioned corrctly, but if I was hiring a planning consultant again, I wouldn't go anywhere near Homz. I would look for someone else.

Dear Murray,

We were surprised to see your original 5-star review amended almost two years after it was first posted, particularly as there have been no active instructions between us during that period.

For completeness, Homz successfully secured planning permission for one of your HMO applications. In respect of the second property, the application did not proceed because you decided to change your investment strategy and pursue a different proposal. As this involved a materially different scope of work from the original instruction, a revised quotation was issued in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

We respectfully disagree with the suggestion that our team were "surly" or "rude". Throughout your instructions, our records demonstrate extensive engagement from our planning and architectural teams, including significant email correspondence, telephone discussions, application management, and professional advice over an extended period.

We fully appreciate that clients' plans can change, and we always endeavour to accommodate revised instructions where possible. However, where a new application or substantially different scope of work is requested, additional professional fees are both reasonable and standard practice within the planning industry.

We are proud that we successfully achieved planning permission on your behalf and remain grateful that you originally recognised the quality of our planning expertise. We wish you every success with your future projects.

Terrible company! Do not use them, they lie and manipulate you into signing up and paying. The timeline is absolutely rubbish and management is awful! No one wants to help you and no one wants to call you. They communicate via email then pass you around. I spoke with both Dila and Caroline who I believe are the same person, making promises then not even responding and getting other employees to do their dirty jobs. Shame on you! you can't even manage yourself. Avoid this place, the only reason they have good reviews is because they ask you to leave a good review so you get a discount of £100 before they even start your work, their reviews are lies!!

A bad experience. The advertising was misleading, deliberately making it appear on a google search as if it were local to my area when it wasn’t. The call was late, on a bad line, and conducted by someone whose English was not good and was extremely hard to understand, and the advice essentially amounted to reciting the freely available rules on permitted development, when I’d asked for specific advice on what would have a good chance of being allowed in terms of materials and positioning. It was a total waste of money for me and I would recommend finding someone with local knowledge instead

After failing to find a decent architect locally I turned to the web for a company to assist me with my planning. I came across Homz - planning and design Consultants. I felt reassured after viewing their website. Very professional from the outset. I was very impressed with how they conducted themselves and I have to say from the initial phone conversations to the final draught prior to putting my application in, it all fell into place beautifully, almost too simplistic to believe. The icing on my little cake was an approval so thankyou Homz for doing a sterling job!
