Very Disappointed With the Lack of Communication
I am extremely disappointed with how our son’s speech evaluation was handled today.
His appointment was at 4:00 PM, but we were not given the correct address until 4:30 PM. My mother arrived at the address provided at 4:00 PM, only to be told she needed to go to another location. When she arrived at the correct location around 5:00 PM, there were no clear signs directing her to the correct building, so she had to search for the office.
Once she finally arrived, she was told that our son could not be seen for his evaluation, without any real explanation or consideration that the confusion was caused by the incorrect address provided by the office.
This entire situation could have easily been avoided with proper communication and clear directions. We made the effort to get our son to his appointment, and it was extremely frustrating to have the appointment canceled due to an issue that was not caused by us.
Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

I understand that your office has a different perspective, but your response leaves out important details that were part of my experience.
Yes, the initial location was incorrect. However, once I realized the mistake, I immediately followed the instructions provided and brought my child to the other location. I appreciate that your office attempted to accommodate the situation that day, but by the time we arrived, we were told the evaluation could not be completed because the therapist needed the full hour.
My concern was not simply that the evaluation could not be completed. My concern was how the situation was handled afterward and the difficulty I experienced trying to get my child’s evaluation rescheduled.
I also want to clarify that I did not leave a review because your therapist needed the full hour. I understand that a comprehensive evaluation takes time. I left the review because of my overall experience as a parent trying to obtain services for my child.
I respect your therapists’ time, and I expect the same consideration for my family’s time. I am disappointed that instead of addressing my concerns, your response characterizes my review as “unwarranted.”
I shared my experience honestly and respectfully. I wish your organization and the families you serve the best as well.

Good Morning. When the evaluation was scheduled the time and location was specified and acknowledged on the phone. On the date of evaluation the child was brought to the incorrect location. Talk About Therapy rescheduled the evaluation to the other location that same day, something we do not do. The address was again provided to the number on file. Talk About Therapy reached out to the family twice while waiting for the family to arrive with no response. The family arrived AFTER the scheduled time, we have expressed countries times to the family that the therapist needs the full 1 hr to complete a thorough and comprehensive assessment. We respect our families time by ensuring the therapist is prepared for the evaluation at the time of appointment, families also need to respect our therapists time. This review is unwarranted as the Talk About Therapy was attempting to reschedule the evaluation and work with the parent. We wish you and your family the best.
My child has been receiving services here and the experience has been one of the worst of my life. From poor customer service, being locked out during their breaks, having the desk folks treat you with disdain and treating my child in a way that contributed to a complete breakdown - I am completely shocked at the services and interactions we've had here. Would not recommend.
The staff is very pleasant and professional. I am very pleased with the interaction of my child therapists. They gave feedback of his performances after each sessions which is satisfying to be given an update and what he needed to work on. They are experienced in dealing with children and they are organized. I have seen improvement in my child and that shows their expertise is giving great results.

We had a wonderful experience at Talk About Therapy working with Sydney. We decided to pursue physical therapy proactively to help our 18-month-old son begin walking, and Sydney was incredible throughout the process.
She worked with our son on a weekly basis, focusing on strengthening the skills he needed to walk independently. Even after just one session, we noticed he was taking more steps than ever before. Sydney was patient, kind, and attentive, always listening to our concerns and answering our questions thoughtfully.
One thing we especially appreciated was that she provided recommendations and exercises after each session so we could continue supporting our son’s progress at home. Her guidance, encouragement, and expertise made a huge difference in his development.
We highly recommend Talk About Therapy to any family seeking physical therapy services for their child. Sydney was truly wonderful, and we are so grateful for the care and support she provided.
I loved Talked about Therapy. Ms. Margo and Ms. Jill worked so hard with my 4 year old. He looked forward to seeing them every week. They assisted me with ways to help my son at home with both charts and body movements. This was our second time around with Talk about Therapy (first time was with Ms. Ansley & we loved her too) and he’s speech had improved so much thanks to the work these women put into my child. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel parents deserve to know about my experience. I started services with this company in March, and initially everything was going very well. Unfortunately, my experience took a complete turn due to an interaction with a staff member named Mrs. Margot.
I am the mother of a 21-month-old Black toddler, and like many toddlers his age, he displays behaviors that are developmentally appropriate for his stage of growth and limited language development. During our visit, Mrs. Margot openly stated in a waiting room full of parents that she had “never seen a toddler act like my son” and referred to him as “aggressive.” She also asked if he was in a “special-needs class.”
As both a Black mother and someone who has worked in education for years, I found these comments extremely inappropriate, insensitive, and unprofessional. Statements and labels like these contribute to the harmful stigma that many Black boys already face at an early age being perceived as “aggressive,” problematic, or different before they are even given the opportunity to simply be children. These types of assumptions are exactly what create fear and distrust for many families when seeking support services.
Toddlers often struggle with emotional regulation, transitions, communication, and impulse control at this age. Any developmental concerns should be discussed respectfully, privately, and with care not publicly in front of other families in a waiting room.
The lack of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and judgment displayed during this interaction was disappointing and ultimately led me to terminate services immediately. What started off as a positive experience unfortunately ended very poorly.
I truly hope this feedback encourages better staff training, professionalism, and more thoughtful communication with parents moving forward because words matter especially when speaking about young children.
We have enjoyed our time working with Ms Cam and are so incredibly grateful for all of her help. My son is no longer frustrated in conversation and is thriving as a result of her hard work and dedication to him. As a parent, I felt supported and was given tools to build on what my son learned during sessions. Very happy with our experience. Highly recommend Ms Cam!
Talk about therapy is great, all the staff is knowledgeable and professional they really work with your child they meet your child where they at and I have seen some improvement in my daughter the key is consistency. Thank you Talk about therapy.
