Five years ago, after extensive research, I decided to purchase a mattress from John Ryan by Design. The countless positive reviews made my decision easy, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best purchases I've ever made. Even after five years, I still look forward to getting into bed every night, it’s that comfortable. Recently, I received my second mattress from John Ryan by Design, and I’m shocked that they’ve somehow managed to make it even more comfortable! The entire experience, from ordering to customer care, was seamless. The delivery drivers were professional and courteous, adding to the overall positive experience. I cannot recommend John Ryan by Design enough.

Excellent guides available to choose the right mattress for you. An excellent return and refund OR exchange policy - inspiring confidence that I can try the product and also that the brand itself has confidence in what it makes. Also excellent is the customer service, I spoke to two agents and both were kind and respectful, but even more importantly knowledgeable - to my surprise I was guided in to buying a cheaper product than I first intended that would suit me better. That felt good. I can’t yet comment on the product but I can say that everything so far has been perfect. I shall update once I’ve received it and used it a month.

I purchased a mattress about a year ago the middle of the mattress has completely failed leaving a massive dip in the middle. I emailed them regarding this they correctly sent out a inspector and supposedly they deemed my slats to far apart when they are 3 inches apart the whole way up the mattress which would not explain as to why the full length of the mattress there is a huge dip in the mattress. I personally would not reccomend this company as they sell you with there lovely 5-10 year warranty depending on which mattress you buy and then proceed to completely ignore the clear manufacturing defaults and go out of there way to avoid replacing. I am now going to have to go and buy a new mattress as this one is unusable. Highly do not recommend

Bought a double size Origins Pocket 1500 mattress (and Origins Platform Base) just over 12 months ago and am absolutely delighted with the comfort the mattress offers - one of the best purchases I've ever made! As the mattress is so deep, I'll be sizing up the sheets to king size when they need replacing.

Just excellent service from my initial enquiry, providing clear understandable answers to my range of questions, through to processing the order and organising delivery. This is the first time I have invested in a quality mattress, and I can confirm that the team at John Ryan by Design never pushed or pressured me into a sale…. Worth every penny! A mattress is a considered purchase but it feels intimidating when you can’t go into a store and tuck yourself up to try out a good nights sleep or not! I rang up John Ryan for advice, the lady I spoke to was incredibly helpful and I did end up buying a more expensive mattress than I had originally intended but no regrets. So well made! So comfy and what price can you put on a good nights sleep!?

Cannot recommend enough. I spent a fair amount of money on a Simba mattress around 3 years previous only to find I was waking up with painful twinges in my back because the support from it had already failed. After looking into it I found out about how memory foam is notorious for failing, so decided to try a John Ryan mattress after a recommendation from a friend. I was impressed from the very start, having had a phone call before the order was confirmed to ensure that I had chosen the right mattress. This was not to try and upsell a more expensive one, it was purely to make sure I had made the right choice. The mattress then arrived sooner than expected, delivered by a very helpful pair of chaps who knew the products and made helpful suggestions. Then on inspecting the mattress I was hugely impressed. For not much more money than any of the generic memory foam or hybrid mattresses you get an absolutely beautifully made one which is comfortable yet supportive. It has a much more expensive feel that the price suggests and my wife and I cannot fault it. You also can tell by the quality feel that it will last for much longer than any of the cheaper ones, making it incredible value. I truly love this mattress and have been more than imprint the customer service. It is also a good feeling to know that you are buying something made in the UK.

We are on our second John Ryan mattress (we upgraded to a super king) and honestly it’s the comfiest mattress we have ever had. Split tension is great as we have different preferences. Couldn’t recommend more highly

Mattress (Artizan) is brilliant. I have been sleeping better since I had it a bit over three months ago. A bit heavy as they use mostly natural materials but on the plus side I sweat less during the night. It needs two people to rotate or flip it over every month but if someone can help it's manageable. Very helpful staff. Good communication throughout. But delivery company could plan and manage their day better. Overall, very happy with my purchase so far.

This is the second time I have had a bed from this company, and is the only company I would use in the future. These guys know what they are talking about, and understand beds, unlike a lot of the 'big' companies that spend a fortune on advertising and just want your money. Most importantly, they want you to buy a bed THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU. Please, don't fall for the advertising hype put out by the 'big boys'.

Updated from original 1 star review: Mattress purchase and delivery experience wasn't the greatest, and I'm a little unsure of the merchants response to our poor experience - it leans a little heavy on 'excuses' for my liking, rather than acknowledging the poor experience and using the feedback to support improvements and prevent similar issues for future customers. We also purchased a mattress from the outlet, so not sure the manufacturing excuses stands up. Initial experience aside, the mattress is fantastic and we are thoroughly happy with the product. It's well made, comfy and gives us both a wonderful nights sleep. Credit where credit is due here, for it is a wonderful mattress. In short, the product is great, but there is work to be done to improve the customer experience, specifically the logistics to get the product delivered at a reasonable time that leans more towards suiting the customer, rather than the business.
