If you're on the fence...go the other way Easy to get in, impossible to get out!!! I was okay with signing up for a loan after reading the loan transfer/assumption portion of the contract. When it came time to sell the buyers were denied due to credit history. The customer service reps stated "We don't rely on credit score, we do a full credit history check." My main issue is that my home is being sold for over 500K to well qualified buyers that were easily approved for a home loan so how are they being denied so this trivial loan. Transparency is key, what they do not tell you in the paperwork is that the transfer credit requirements are more stringent than the initial application which is simply a soft credit pull that also allows you to use a cosigner. For loan assumptions the loan is only allowed to be taken out by an individual applicant. When I called about the issue they were not able to provide any assistance only stating that I would have to pay off the loan in order to remove the lien on the panels with the disclaimer that they do not have a lien on the house but only the panels which are personal property. The customer reps were scripted and kept repeating the same policy that is clearly a way to trap customers from selling their property in the way that was advertised. It seems like simple math to me, transfer the loan and allow the lien to remain with the new buyers...Here I am about to move my family to a new the country in a couple of weeks and stuck trying to figure out how to sell our home despite this insane lending trap.

Fraud, Liars, Thieves Like the other reviews, they have charged me $20k for an install I never had. They kept telling me the installer denied the cancellation and going ahead with the install. I have called Mosaic for a month every few days, I keep getting the run around. Then I speak with a supervisor she tells me to send an email with the pictures, I do that and the email keeps bouncing back. They are complete frauds. See pictures,

SCAM Never got solar panels yet somehow I have a loan with these people for $22k. They continue to email, call, and send me letters saying I owe them money. It has affected my credit yet I have nothing to do with them. Huge scam

Sacm between mosaic and viridi construction If you’ve had issues with Viridi Construction and Mosaic Lending, read on. Mosaic, linked with Viridi for home improvement projects, relies solely on customer confirmation for project completion on their portal, as per our contract. I discovered Viridi falsely claimed to have finished my ADU plans, including city approval, which I found untrue upon checking with the city myself. Unfortunately, I had already confirmed completion on Mosaic’s portal, triggering fund release to Viridi. Attempts to address this with Mosaic were futile as they insisted the funds were for a solar panel project, not my ADU, suggesting possible fraud. It was only after filing a complaint with the DFPI that my loan was successfully canceled. I urge anyone in a similar situation to take the same action promptly.

They are frauds Horrible thieves! They funded a project that was never inspected and to a company that we told them was going bankrupt! They are pathetic miscreants

Mosaic's loan transfer criteria insight We are in the middle of a loan transfer process. Our buyers have been denied multiple times through the Mosaic automatic loan approval system. After speaking with many, very friendly and helpful, representatives from the loan assumption/transfer department and the underwriting department, I was given some qualification criteria I would like to share to perhaps help others with this difficult process. Here's what I was told: credit history is extremely important to qualify for a loan transfer. Things such as: no excessive debt (good DTI ration), no bankruptcy in the last 3-7 yrs, a good amount of activity in the credit history to show, no derogatory credit such as delayed payments within the last 1-2yrs or defaults. A good FICO score. Also, if you are a brand new customer applying for a Mosaic loan, you are approved based on a soft credit criteria (much lower standards) and any problems like denials can be taken up with the underwriting team who can, at your request, do a manual "credit decision override" CDO. However, if you are an existing customer and have problems with your loan transfer, that is done through the "loan assumptions/transfer" department. The new buyer would request an application link, fill it out online, their system will automatically issue an approval or denial response letter within about 10 seconds. Regarding this system, your credit information is pulled from the credit Bureau (Experian or Equifax) and matched with Mosaic's qualifications criteria. If they check these predetermined criteria boxes you will get an approval, if not, then a denial email with the reason for denial will be immediately sent to you. It is very picky, I would say. Representatives are not in liberty to tell you what exactly they are, if they know at all. I was told multiple times by them that they were not at liberty to tell me what the FICO score to qualify for a transfer is per company policy. All that being said, on a positive note, my experience with Mosaic's customer representatives was very positive. They were always very willing to help to the best of their abilities and would contact other departments for answers when they didn't know. I was very satisfied with them once I started to understand how their system works and which people I should talk to. I feel like if their system was a bit more clear they may not have as many complaints because then people would realize the criteria they have to meet. That being said, I do also think Mosaic is way too strict when it comes to their solar loan transfer criteria compared to other solar loan companies. My realtor has been in business for over 15 yrs and dealt with many solar loan transfers and said she has never had as hard of a time with a transfer as with Mosaic. My solar company also said they had to drop from using Mosaic as a loan service because they were very hard to deal with and were getting alot of complaints from customers dealing with them.

SCAM/FRAUD COMPANY Mosaic Solar is a scam company. They work together with Freedom Forever solar in a large scam operation. I was first contacted by Ethan Mumford, a door to door sales representative with Freedom Forever. I was interested in obtaining solar because, I had it installed on my previous house and loved it. He passed my information to Jennifer coombs who came by my house and talked about their product. I filled out the paperwork so they could verify I qualified for a loan if needed. Jennifer left and I researched Freedom Forever. I found out about all the complaints so I canceled the contract during the cancelation period. I received confirmation of the cancelation and went on my way. 3 months later, Mosaic starts reporting on my credit that I owe them over 18000 fir a loan I never authorized. I've filed disputes with the BBB, Experian, transunion, equifax and the CFPB. I'm still fighting to get it off my credit reports.
Scam Artists I bought nothing, yet they reported that I took out a $15,000 loan for $198 per month 25 years. Again. I did not buy solar, I talked to Freedom forever solar. My credit score dropped 50 points. I filed a sheriff report, Contacted Dave Yost and filed fraud complaint, contacted all three credit reporting agencies and filed complaints. Joined a group that is filing legal action against Solar Mosaic. Don't talk to them, don't let them in your house or answer the phone. RUN

If I could give them without a star, I will give NONE. This company is a TOTAL RIPOFF... Don't be deceived by the interest rate which is 3.99%.. The question is, was it APR? NOPE, we were hoaxed by the agent that sold us the solar panel from VIVINT!!!! The interest rate was DAILY...imagine that...DAILY INTEREST! So compound that 3.99x365days in a year, that is 1,456.35% of the total amount that was financed under you! Good thing that I found it early however I don't know how to refinance the amount and pay them off right away for them not to RIP us off even further!!!! Please do not sign for financing with them!!!
Fraud/Scam this financing plan/process is completely cheating.. while signing the loan, they said first 18 months interest free but, while signing up the they loan terms they gave something and they are charging perday charges - if the loan is 30K - customers end up of paying 80K with different interest rates. it's a fraud financial institute.

Find a different Lender Beware, once you sign the loan documents that date is used for when payments are due along with when you have to pay the additional lump sum from the tax credit. Solar takes a long time to get set up and turned on. We had to pay prior to having solar. Since we signed the paperwork in July, but did not get solar turned on until after January, we could not file for the solar credit for that year. Now to get the promotion interest rate to continue the sum is due before we can file the taxes and Mosaic WIll NOT push the date. Very disappointed on how this was handled.
Mosaic is a SCAM Mosaic sent our refund to the wrong address. They claim an unknown party cashed it and blame us?? Given the runaround from “customer service”. Horrible experience and they have our money with no resolve.
Horrible business practices!!!!! We currently have our home for sale and under contract. Our buyers (both husband and wife) were originally denied to assume the solar loan. Mosaic said one thing we/the buyers can do is submit for a manual review to be done to see if they can get approved that way. The manual review was originally requested June 8th and the paperwork was sent in on June 10th. I as the seller was told 7-10 business days, and the buyers were told 7-12 business days. I called in a week later to see if there was an update and was told “sorry it’s not 7-10 days but 7-15 business days”. We called in again and was told that we would have an answer on or before June 23rd. June 23rd comes and still no answer so we call and was then told “sorry but we didn’t get any paperwork from the buyers til June 21st so we need an additional 7-15 business days”. We have emails to back up to when the paperwork was sent in. We call in again on Jun 29th for an update and was told once again we will have an answer on or before July 7th. We have requested to speak to the supervisor and every time, the supervisor is unavailable to speak and will call us back and never does. We ask to speak with the supervisors boss and is told the supervisor is now the manager. We don’t know what they are trying to pull by refusing to answer but this company is extremely shady and if I would have known that I would never have gotten solar. Save yourself the headache and don’t do business with this company.

Lies lies lies I was told by the representative that I would be as fully off grid as possible, that I would only have a connection fee from the power company, that I would have power going to the entire house in the instance of a power outage. None of this was true, my Water Heater & AC aren’t even connected to the solar power, my electric bill continues to go up & just a week ago we had a power outage, we had solar power for a few hours from the battery then had to wait for the power company to get back up, with no hot water or ac. No one explains the Tesla app to you either, you have to figure that out on your own. This has been, by far, the worse decisions of my life & I’ve been married twice. Now they are telling me it is going to cost more to get what I initially signed up for, acting like they never stated I would be as fully off grid as possible.

Stay AWAY! They worked hand in hand with SokarTitan USA which is being sued by the Atty Generals of TN, KY and AL for ripping off thousands. SolarMosaic is a defendant as well on the complaint as they kept roping in their victims so that SolarTitan could continue - long after they knew what they were doing based on consumer complaints.
Unethical - Buyer Beware We are a solar contractor and have been in business for 15 years. We have been referring our customers to Mosaic for over 5 years. We do not profit from our referrals; they are done in good faith to help our homeowner customers. Mosaic recently charged my company 19% fees for two solar projects we completed that were quoted to us on 10/22/2022 to have 0% fees do to the interest rate being 6.99%. They claimed to have informed us via email of the upcoming changes. We did not receive the email nor agreed to charge our customers a 19% fee for a 6.99% 12YR loan. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic, and they have now taken $12,264.04 of our hard-earned money. Mosaic should be ashamed of themselves and are not an honest or professional company to do business with. #solarenergy #badbusiness #unethical #california
