Ever since the "no phones" policy was lifted, people talk on their phones with loud voices, speak and laugh loudly, there is just absolutely no decorum!
No one has any consideration or treats this place as a LIBRARY, somewhere people can come for peace and quiet to read and study.
I really wish that was addressed, this is such a nice library, but there is absolutely no peace there!
I had a confusing experience at this library. I went to check out a book I found on the shelf, but when I brought it to the desk, the librarian told me it was already on hold for someone else. I was honestly surprised because I didn’t even know you could place holds on books that were still on the shelf.
the situation itself was frustrating since there was no indication on the book that it was on hold and it sitting on the shelf to take.
It felt awkward and an incovinence getting all the way to checkout just to be told I couldn’t borrow it. I wish there were clearer signs or labels so this doesn’t happen to others.
Security quite rude, tried to drop books off before they were closed and they decided they were closing 10 to 15 minutes earlier. It wouldn’t let me drop stuff off and then we’re really rude about it. I called staff to see if they would let me drop stuff off or have a dropbox outside, but they were incredibly unhelpful. I totally understand not letting people come in and browse when you’re about to close but you should let people return books so they don’t get hit with late fees if you are still within working hours. It’s quite a shame since I love using my local library over buying books when I can.
