I wasn’t convinced that learning guitar in a group setting was for me, but Kitchen Jam has completely flipped that on its head. I joined as a total novice with zero musical background, so yes -daunted doesn’t even begin to cover it. But it turns out making mistakes is basically the house style, and it’s strangely freeing. The mix of abilities in the group has been a real bonus. You learn by osmosis, by listening, by watching. I’m starting to understand timing, feel, and what on earth my fingers are supposed to be doing. The atmosphere is always friendly and encouraging, and Dan steers us all with just the right balance of patience, humour, and know-how. So far, so very good. Highly recommend.

I joined a couple of months ago and do weekly sessions. I am really enjoying the format and the way the sessions are delivered. The whole team are super friendly it’s really flexible and the focus is on learning and having fun at the same time - which works really well. Taking lessons at Kitchen jam was fun and also challenging in a good way to get me out my comfort zone- I found it productive and really enjoyed myself jamming as a group and learnt loads too! My daughter has recently joined Kitchen Jam just over a month ago to learn bass guitar. It has become the highlight of her week. Dan is a wonderful, kind and supportive teacher and the environment at Kitchen Jam is so welcoming and makes the whole experience so much fun for her. I found the concept of learning to play an instrument in real life context (ie in a band and performing) much more attractive and appealing than traditional lessons where you would learn in isolation and work towards traditional grades. I can't recommend Kitchen Jam enough.

The studio is run by the amazing team who really cares about the music and their customers. My 5-years old son enjoys the lessons with Barry and goes to every lesson with a smile. I highly recommend this studio for kids' guitar lessons.

Kitchen Jam was a good fit for me from the start, three months on and I’m progressing very well, our tutor is very experienced, his guidance is comprehensive and tailored, I practice alongside people with varying experience, this works so well with gaining experience, I feel that I’m challenged constantly…. from practicing to jamming along with others, it’s always fun. I have learned more in three months than a year with online videos.

We found Kitchen Jam as we were looking for a location for guitar lessons for our young musician. The thing which makes Kitchen Jam totally unique and special is the fact that they offer something totally different from standard music lessons. They provide an opportunity for students to get stuck into music in a friendly, musical jam-oriented weekly session (hence the name). We highly recommend Kitchen Jam for those wanting something communal as well as creative with guitar lessons.

I don't usually leave reviews but Kitchen Jam are totally deserving of 5 stars. My toddler broke one of my ukulele strings so I popped in on the off chance they had a set in stock. They ordered some in. A couple of days later I brought my uke into the shop. They changed the strings for me (and gave the uke a good clean). Only charged for the strings not the fitting. Everyone was clearly knowledgeable and super friendly. It was all round just a great experience. Thank you!!!
