I wasn’t convinced that learning guitar in a group setting was for me, but Kitchen Jam has completely flipped that on its head. I joined as a total novice with zero musical background, so yes -daunted doesn’t even begin to cover it. But it turns out making mistakes is basically the house style, and it’s strangely freeing.
The mix of abilities in the group has been a real bonus. You learn by osmosis, by listening, by watching. I’m starting to understand timing, feel, and what on earth my fingers are supposed to be doing.
The atmosphere is always friendly and encouraging, and Dan steers us all with just the right balance of patience, humour, and know-how.
So far, so very good. Highly recommend.
