Sikkim the land of great beauty
For 6 years, i dreamt of visiting sikkim and it was finally realised with eka experiences. To truly connect with a place it is important to spend time with the people that belong there. In all we stayed in 4 homestays. First about eka experiences, it is a partnership of two young passionate trekkers who decided they wanted to give people offbeat, connected to the people culturally, close to nature experiences. It is besides us to take a pre planned itinerary and just go along with it especially with people we had never met. Yet, it felt right. After having spoken with Abhirup on the phone we finally went on a long journey and landed in yuksom where we met his partner and avid trekker Indrajeet. Indrajeet is a warm, honest and a genuinely nice guy. He is passionate about what he does. Throughout the trip Indrajeet was our anchor,guide, and my sons only friend. Our trip was hectic since we spent about a day and a half at each homestay. Some were great finds and I would love to visit them again but one in particular left us rather miffed and disappointed. I think if we had more time we could have had a better itinerary, one that was fulfilling and not so tiring. But we did have some really amazing days. What really struck a cord with us was Indrajeets constant attention and care, our driver norbu who was extremely patient and understood when we needed to take breaks for my son who suffers from motion sickness. The families in yuksom and khecheopalri were especially very caring, welcoming and warm. Pelling homestay too had its own charm. Abhirup and Jeet have obviously great rapport with the hosts which in turn made our experience memorable. For us, it is the people that we will come back for. My advise is to give each village or town you visit at least 3 days to really soak it all in and also to avoid over exhaustion from all the car drives to and fro. If it is a long trip do check for laundry services. People love their land here and are genuinely nice and peaceful. Even though we had a few hiccups, For our first trip, we are glad we chose Eka experiences and I am grateful to Indrajeet for being by our side,constantly ensuring our needs were met and we were comfortable. Once in a lifetime experience!
We have a great year end trip to Sikkim which was planned end to end by Eka. They arranged the most amazing home stays which such kind and gracious hosts whom we would definitely have not found on our own. We wanted to have a nice, relaxed time and all the stays and activities arranged by Eka was designed for that. Abhirup was always available for any queries and he goes out of his way to ensure we have a great time.

AMAZING Trip ????
In Oct I attended an off the beaten path trek to West Sikkim & a visit to North Sikkim with Eka Experiences. Our experienced guide, Abhirup Paul, took care of all the arrangements and went out of his way to tackle some challenges encountered with attaining the required permits.
Upon first meeting him, his warm and smiley personality makes you feel as though you’re meeting a friend. He took the utmost care of us on the treks, made sure we were safe, comfortable and had good food to eat. He remained calm and positive throughout our trip no matter what challenges came up.
We trekked from one Homestay to another, which were well chosen. The knowledge he possesses and happily shared, made the trip all that more interesting.
I’m an avid birder, and carried my camera on the trip. Abhirup made sure I had time to capture some of the beauties that reside in the region.
I’ll definitely go on another trip with Eka Experiences again. And HIGHLY recommend it to family, friends and others. You’ll be very pleased you did.

Phulara Ridge trek
Done Phulara Ridge trek with Eka in Nov 21. Got introduced to Eka thru social media. And on few interactions decided to trek with them. Abhiroop the main driving force behind Eka is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very apt for trekking perspective. His team is equally responsible and we fill safe while trekking with them. Also the choice of treks, the destinations they suggest are very unique. I would recommend Eka to all those interested in different traveling experience.

Kashmir has always held a special allure to me: seldom portrayed kindly in modern Bollywood movies, always a mystery, backdrop for nefarious terrorist activities, but a stunning, beautiful place. A troubled paradise. For nearly two years – first, following the abrogation of Article 370 and then the pandemic-induced lockdowns – Kashmir had remained largely closed to tourists. Then this year it opened, and suddenly thousands of tourists descended upon Kashmir.
It is easy to do the typical touristy things around Kashmir and return home satisfied having ticked it off your bucket list but there’s much to see beyond the places on the map. Helping me explore some of them were the folks at Eka Experiences.
Abhirup Paul, who runs the company, was very responsive to my request of creating an itinerary for a solo trip in October 2021. He got back with a solid itinerary that covered some of the typical places but also nudged me to explore some of the other sites around Pahalgam. He was also sensitive to my less-than-average fitness levels and created curated a plan that included hikes and road journeys.
Eka collaborates with locals and ensures you have a safe but also enriching experience in Kashmir. Their man on the ground, Mehraj Ganai, is a Pahalgam local who knows his way around the place and has a vast experience in not just organising treks but also family- and couple-friendly tours so you go beyond the tourist trail.
Warm, accommodating, honest, and professional, Mehraj was helpful and patient, sharp as a tack and ensuring I got the best out of the experience. His insights into the region didn’t just help me see Kashmir as a tourist but rather as a guest in his home.
I am delighted to recommend Eka Experiences to anyone visiting Kashmir. Abhirup tells me he has more trips up his sleeve and I can’t wait to be part of those.
