Stayed at Ridgeview House in August 2024. Very easy booking process and Oliver was very helpful with any questions, and particularly proactive about amenities for the dogs when he saw i was bringing two.
The property is perfect for Westward Ho! - literally on the doorstep of the beach / town area and backs onto the nature reserve. Walking into town was less than 5 minutes although other than the Thai restaurant Morans (excellent food!) we tended to stay local at the Pig & Olive pizza place which is fantastic
Nice and modern, with excellent kitchen and living area. Beds were comfortable and house was clean.
Garden space was low maintenance but perfectly fine and safe for the dogs. It was a real sun trap in the evening too.
Would definitely book through this company again

Just returned from a week at Seafront House 8 in Westward Ho! - great house everything you could need and the most amazing uninterrupted views of the sea and stunning sunsets; you can even see Lundy island wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer to visit that.
Great location with an easy access path to the seafront for a flat walk into town and quick access to the A39 for touring round Devon & Cornwall!

Stayed at Hideaway Cottage, Absolutely lovely little cottage, with the most beautiful view, between my son and I we weren’t able to do lots of ‘sight seeing’ for health reasons but it didn’t matter as we could sit in the garden in the good weather or even just open up the bifold doors and let the outside in … the sound of the waves … just so relaxing.
The only issue for me was I found the seating very low and difficult to get up off due to joint issues, it would be lovely if a higher seat could be put in the corner next to the sofa… then it would have been perfect for us and we would definitely rebook again without question.
But for anyone with no physical restrictions other than having to duck through doorways if over 5’10 (it is a traditional cottage after all) it is delightful, decor is lovely and calming blues, it is well equipped, including washing machine, and Cottages on the Coast were really, really helpful with requests, they put a fantastic fan in for us as my son can’t sleep without one, you don’t get that level of service many places. Beds were very comfy… in fact more comfortable than mine at home! So new mattress for me on the cards!
We had a Tesco delivery without any issues, though we were welcomed with a lovely cream tea, milk etc for a cuppa 👍🏻 which is a lovely touch.
So thank you 🙏 We loved our stay 💙 I was sad to leave.

Really wonderful company, it is important owners to use a local company, family owned, so that when there is an issue (there may be) they have the resources, attitude, and people to deal with this in a kind, considerate manner. Cottages on the Coast are sincerely dedicated to being the opposite of a huge national corporation that is really only interested in profit when there is a problem, COTC are people focused and it really matters because they will be there promptly with solutions for visitors and owners, finding help and making sure everyone is happy, I've had first hand experience of dealing with both, so THANK YOU! Such a relief to know they have everyone's best interest at heart in a professional, sincere way.

Cottages on the Coast provide a fantastic, local service to their owners and guests. We would highly recommend Oliver and Alice, an independent agency with a focus on quality accommodation and attention to detail. If we could give 10 stars, we would!

We spent 9 nights at “The Old Bakery” in Braunton , located on the North Devon coast.
Extremely dog friendly for our miniature dachshund, the garden area was safe for her and inside there were an abundance of dog beds for her to choose from.
The properly has everything you can possibly need for a winter or summer holiday!
The beds were extremely comfortable and spacious, the lounge area was perfect for a cosy night in with the wood burner.
The location is great as you can easily walk to shops and restaurants due to its central location.
I can not fault Cottages On the Coast at all ! We will be back / thank you Alice and Oliver.

Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, well equipped, edge of village so little traffic (except for the parade of 50 tractors one time) and dark skies allowing the milky way to be seen (weather permitting)

Ship Ahoy is a spacious, comfortable flat in the heart of picturesque Appledore, less than a minute’s walk from the quayside. Clean and beautifully presented, with a well equipped kitchen and lovely courtyard garden, this was a perfect base for exploring North Devon. Great communication, and plenty of local information provided. A lovely stay – thank you!

Happy Days Bungalow in Braunton is absolutely wonderful. It is freshly decorated and of a high standard, my family loved it. My two boys especially loved the surf lessons near by on Saunton beach! It was also very useful that the bungalow was only a short walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants too! The garden is calm and quiet with a tropical feel. The beds were so comfy and the living space very homely. We will definitely be returning! Just a brilliant stay. Thanks! The Smith family

My family and I stayed at Happy Days over the summer and had a magical time. We’ve stayed in lots of places around Devon over the last decade and this was the best one we have stayed at. It has a great location - a short and pleasant stroll to the nearest town of Brauton, where there are great restaurants and shops, and a 5 min easy drive to Saunton Sands. We also spent a day in Croyde which is also very close by. The garden is sheltered and sunny and has all the amenities you need - plenty of seating, a BBQ and space for children to play. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen well equipped and plenty of hot water for everyone. Good off street parking, although the street was also quiet enough to park on too.
We noticed a local bus that goes between braunton and croyde, although we didn’t use it.
We ate one evening at the restaurant on saunton sands, which was lovely - have to book when it is busy. Great place in Brauton also for fish n chips. Our children also loved the pottery cafe.

Ship Ahoy in Appledore
Just had an amazing week at this cottage. Everything to make our stay a home from home. Comfy bed, well furnished, great shower. Excellent spot and always managed to get free parking on the Quay. Appledore is a great base for visiting north Devon, and the local eateries were all fantastic, every meal we had was excellent... The Yard, The Royal George, Flame Factory, The Beaver, The Bell at Monksleigh, and not forgetting a great night of live blues at The Champ. Communication with Cottages on the Coast was excellent, would very happily use them again, and would recommend Ship Ahoy
Thank you Oliver!!
Thanks for your lovely review Alison. We're please you both enjoyed your stay & would welcome you back again anytime!

We recently spent a week at The Old Bakery in Braunton with our two Spaniels and had a wonderful time. The cottage is beautifully located in a quiet street, just a short walk from the village centre. It is also within easy driving distance of some of the most beautiful beaches in North Devon, including Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay, with Exmoor just a short hop away too if you fancy something different.
The cottage itself is absolutely charming. It has been lovingly renovated and features a mix of original features and modern amenities. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the living room is cosy and inviting. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom is modern and clean.
We especially loved the enclosed garden. It was the perfect place for our dogs to run around and play, and it was also a great spot for us to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Cottages on the Coast were very welcoming and accommodating. They ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay, and they were always happy to answer any questions.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at The Old Bakery. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of North Devon. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and dog-friendly vacation rental.
