Words cannot accurately describe how perfect Climb Kili was for my trek and safari. Pre trip communication with Tiffany put my mind at ease. All phone calls and emails were answered promptly. Arriving at JRO, I was as greeted by our driver Henry who got us to Arusha quickly as we were exhausted after many hours traveling. The staff at Summit Lodge exceeded my expectations and strived to make my stay as perfect as could be. While the Summit Lodge is no Hilton, it more than suited my needs before and after the trek. Sure, the water pressure isn’t great and AC could have been better but you just have to remember… you’re in Africa. Would stay again. I arrived in country several days before my trek and was bored on one of the days. I messaged Rickson about the possibility of doing a coffee plantation tour. Even though it was extremely last minute he was able to pull it off. Thanks so much. The trek itself was nothing short of perfect! We were a group of 7 hikers and were given 4 guides. They were Amani, Godwin, Emmanuel and Isiah. Amani has climbed the mountain over 500 times!!. His sons, Godwin and Isiah, are third generation guides and already have the knowledge and experience of seasoned vets! Emmanuel has lead guide written all over him. Superb team!! I will forever remember their kindness and professionalism. Of course, it would not have been possible without the porters. Words can’t describe how professional and kind they are. On summit day, Amani allowed myself and Emmanuel to pull ahead of the group which allowed us to be the first to summit out of everyone on the mountain! Truly a special experience! When you book be sure to request Amani, Godwin, Emmanuel, Isiah and their porter team. The best on the mountain bar none. After the trek, I did a three day safari with flight. Our guide, Joshua, was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to put us on the Big 5. He answered all our questions, and as funny and a joy to talk too. If you do a safari, skip the Maasai village tour. Read other reviews on that. Do not hesitate to book with Climb Kili. I felt cared for every step of the way. The premier outfitter on the mountain!! You will not regret it!

Greatest tour group I’ve ever used Climbing Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and that is entirely because of the exceptional team that led us.Amani, our head guide, is truly world-class. With over 400 summits under his belt, his experience is unmatched — but what really sets him apart is his energy and heart. He’s knowledgeable, calm, motivating, and an absolute blast to be around. Amani runs an incredibly professional program while still making the climb fun, personal, and inspiring. You always feel safe, supported, and confident with him leading the way.The assistant guides, Godwin and Isaiah, were just as phenomenal. Both are highly experienced, attentive, and genuinely invested in everyone’s success. They anticipated needs before we even had to ask, kept spirits high on the toughest days, and made the entire journey smoother and more enjoyable than I ever imagined. Their encouragement and care made a huge difference, especially on summit night. From start to finish, this team went above and beyond. The organization, communication, safety, and overall vibe were top-tier. What could have been just a hard trek turned into a meaningful, joyful, once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you’re considering climbing Kilimanjaro, do it with this team. I can’t recommend Amani, Godwin, and Isaiah highly enough — they didn’t just get us to the summit, they made the journey unforgettable.

It is stories like yours that remind us why we love what we do! Thank you so much for the glowing recommendation and for sharing your Machame Route experience with us. 💚We couldn’t agree more Amani is truly in a league of his own. Having 400+ summits is an incredible feat, but as you noted, it’s his heart and energy that make the journey so special. He has a unique gift for turning a grueling trek into a joyful, professional, and deeply personal adventure. We are so glad his leadership made you feel safe and confident every step of the way.We are also thrilled to hear such kind words about Godwin and Isaiah. They are such a vital part of our success, and their ability to anticipate needs before they even arise is exactly what we strive for. Knowing they were there to keep spirits high during the physical and mental challenge of summit night is wonderful to hear. Our goal is always to provide a 'top-tier' experience where the logistics are seamless so that you can focus on the beauty of the mountain and the joy of the climb. Hearing that your trek turned into a meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime memory is the best feedback we could ask for.We will be sure to pass your gratitude along to Amani, Godwin, Isaiah, and the entire support crew. Congratulations on standing at the Roof of Africa! Asante sana!

Crazy good and hard experience There were a lot of people hiking up. The moat people passing ua while hiking are the porters. Many porters for all these hikers. But it wasn't too crowded. It was funny seeing the same people every day while taking a break or at the camp. Our groupe was really nice. Kind people from the age of 25 to 65. Our lead guide Emanuel was the best. I don't know any other lead guide but he did everything so great for us that I think so. He took care of us. The food from the chef was amazing. He even baked a cake that was delicous. Our waiter was very kind. He woke us up in the morning with a tea or coffee. Two of our groupe weren't going to the summit from the last camp. That was a tough desicion but they made it wisely. Others in other groups were kinda draged to the mountain because they paid for that. But that didn't even look like they notice anything. Just for a picture on top is not the best idea. You should be proud coming even that far and making the desicion for yourself not going to the summit. Thanks for everything.

My wife and I came to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro. We had read online that Climb Kili was the best guide company to use to accomplish this task. Everything we had read was true. Climb Kili was excellent beyond description. From the moment they picked us up at the airport and until the moment they dropped us off for our return flight we were always taken care of. They helped us accomplish our task of climbing Kilimanjaro and for that I am thankful. The part I didn’t expect from the Climb Kili team is the impact they would have on us. Every member of the team, from the guides to the porters, genuinely cared about our well-being and gave us far more of themselves than we were able to give in return. One day after climbing the Baranco Wall my wife and I felt extremely exhausted we arrived at camp to the entire support team singing the most wonderful song to us. They had taught us enough Swahili along the climb that the song was more than just a beautiful song is had real meaning to all of us. My wife and I were moved to tears at the gift of their song because the ultimate gift you can give to anyone is a small part of yourself and that is exactly what they gave to each of us and each of us felt it. I think we all needed that pick me up and our support team knew it. This is the kind of thing they did for us every day. I cannot write this without mentioning by name three members of your support team that are three of the most amazing people I have ever met. Emmanuel helped my wife for several hours as she struggled with her footing on the climb down from Lava tower. Godwin was one of our assistant guides and he seemed to just appear when we needed him most. My wife and I are older and a few times my wife really struggled with her footing or the weight of the pack or the difficulty of the trail. Godwin would seem to always just appear at these moments and offer his assistance or wisdom. Amani was our chief guide. I spent 10 years in the Army and 23 years working in the ER and I have never met a truer leader than Amani. He is a quiet man who leads by example and has a way of always making you feel confident that you can accomplish the task ahead of you. He seems to know exactly when you need words of encouragement or words of wisdom. My wife and I have climbed many mountains around the world and usually we come back home and talk about the mountain we most recently climbed but we came back from Kilimanjaro talking about the wonderful climb Kili team that we came to know and love. Honestly, I would love to thank all 24 members of the support staff not only for everything they did for which was a lot but also for being the kind and wonderful men that all of them are.

Dear Julie,

We are sitting here deeply moved after reading your beautiful words. On behalf of the entire Climb Kili family, thank you for sharing such an intimate look at your journey. 💚

To hear that your experience was 'excellent beyond description' means everything to us. However, the highest honor we could possibly receive is the comparison you made regarding Amani’s leadership. For someone with a background of 10 years in the Army and 23 years in the ER to recognize Amani as a 'truer leader' than any they’ve ever met is a testament we don't take lightly. Amani truly leads with a quiet strength, and we are so proud that his wisdom gave you both the confidence to conquer the Roof of Africa.

We were also so touched to hear about the care Emmanuel and Godwin provided. Whether it was Emmanuel spending hours ensuring your wife felt steady coming down from Lava Tower, or Godwin’s uncanny ability to 'just appear' exactly when a pack felt too heavy or a step too steep this is the heart of what we do. Our team doesn't just guide; they look after you like family.

That emotional moment at Barranco Camp arriving exhausted only to be met by the voices and songs of the crew is exactly why we love Kilimanjaro. It’s more than just a trek; it’s a connection of spirits. We are so happy that the Swahili lessons along the way allowed that song to resonate so deeply, moving you to tears. It truly is the ultimate gift to share a piece of oneself, and our 24-man support team will be so humbled to know how much that meant to you.

You mentioned that you usually return home talking about the mountains, but this time you returned talking about our people. That is the greatest success we could ever hope for.

We will make sure that Amani, Godwin, Emmanuel, and every single member of your support staff hears your words. They will be beaming with pride. Congratulations to you both on this incredible achievement, and thank you for becoming a part of our story. Asante sana!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars. I very highly recommend Climb Kili A wonderful 7 days with new found friends, made easy by a very experienced guide of 30 yrs, and a brilliant support team of porters/cooks. All the walkers agreed at the end to tip the team above the suggested total as we were amazed at the professionalism and care taken by team. From my perspective, as I had chest/ head cold on the very demanding summit night, I'm absolutely sure that if not for the encouragement of this capable team, I simply would not have made it up and then down. I had to make a late change from another climbing company that just didn't give me much information, and Climb Kili accommodated me instantly and seamlessly with a 100 page PDF upon payment of a deposit. Top shelf service.

Dear Ivan,

Thank you so much for the 5-star review and for sharing your experience with us! 💚

We know how stressful it can be to make a last-minute change, especially for a journey as significant as Kilimanjaro. We are so glad we could step in and provide the 'top-shelf' service you deserved from the start. We take immense pride in our 100-page prep guide because we believe that being fully informed is the first step toward a successful summit. Hearing that it made your transition to Climb Kili feel seamless is exactly what we strive for!

It’s also wonderful to hear about the bond you formed with your fellow walkers. The Lemosho Route has a way of turning strangers into lifelong friends over those seven days.

We are particularly moved by your story of summit night. Pushing through a head and chest cold on the most demanding part of the trek requires incredible grit. Our veteran guides some with 30 years of mountain wisdom know exactly how to provide that extra layer of encouragement when the air gets thin and the path gets steep. We are so happy they were there to help you reach the Roof of Africa and, more importantly, get you back down safely.

The fact that your entire group chose to recognize the porters and cooks with an extra tip is the highest compliment our crew could receive. They truly are the heartbeat of our operation, and they will be so proud to know their professionalism and care stood out to you all.

Congratulations on such a massive achievement, Ivan! We’ll be sure to share your kind words with the entire team. Asante sana!

AMAZING PEOPLE! Amazing experience!! We had the best guides - shoutout to Veda, Manny and Alfred for making this the best trip ever. 100% summit rate for our group and those on either day around us. I can’t recommend Climb Kili enough. The food was also great! All porters and camp crew were great too. John and Six were awesome. Even our driver to the airport - Mike was great. Truly the best people!!

Thank you for sharing this it truly means more than you know. What you described is exactly what makes a Kilimanjaro climb so powerful. When guides and crew stop feeling like staff and start feeling like family, the experience changes completely. Herment, Florian, and the entire team have a rare gift for that they lead with heart, humility, and an incredible sense of responsibility for the people walking beside them.Calling them your brothers says everything. The spirit they bring to the mountain the encouragement, the laughter, the quiet strength when things get hard is what turns a tough hike into something deeply meaningful. They don’t just guide people up Kilimanjaro; they walk with them, protect them, and genuinely want every step to be the best it can be.We’re so grateful you felt that connection and carried it with you. Experiences like this don’t fade they become part of who you are. Asante sana for trusting Climb Kili with such an important journey and for honoring the team in such a heartfelt way 💚🏔️

What a great experience!! Climb Kili did a fantastic job. John and Coleman and the whole crew were fantastic, seriously top notch. We did the the 7 day Machame Route to the top. Absolutely amazing!! After that, we did a 3 day safari with Emmanuel. He was top notch as well. We literally saw every possible animal. Most of them(including lions) were within feet of the Land Cruiser. It was spectacular!! I can't say enough good things about Climb Kili. Worth every penny!!

Hello Mark,

What a fantastic review! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. 💚

We are thrilled to hear that your 7-day trek on the Machame Route was such a success. John, Coleman, and the entire mountain crew are absolute pros, and they will be so happy to hear your 'top-notch' shout-out! There is nothing quite like the feeling of standing at the top after those seven days of hard work, and we’re glad our team could help make that moment absolutely amazing for you.

The adventure didn't stop there, though! It sounds like your 3-day safari with Emmanuel was the perfect way to celebrate your summit. We take great pride in our safari guides, and hearing that Emmanuel got you within feet of the lions (and managed to find every animal on the list!) is just spectacular. There’s truly nothing like seeing the wildlife of Tanzania from the Land Cruiser after coming down from the mountain.

Knowing that the entire trip was 'worth every penny' for you is the best feedback we could hope for. We will be sure to pass your kind words along to John, Coleman, Emmanuel, and the whole support staff.

Congratulations again on a massive achievement and an incredible holiday! Asante sana for choosing Climb Kili!

Truly Epic I had the greatest experience on this trip!! Climbing Kilimanjaro has been a dream of mine for years and I'm so grateful to Climb Kili and the team I had for helping me achieve this goal. Veda was an AMAZING lead guide. He was always going out of his way to check in on everyone and make sure we were doing well. Manny and Alfred were amazing guides as well. All three of them were very experienced and informed. I was a little nervous about being able to summit since I had never been above 6000 feet of elevation before this trip and they were constantly raising my confidence. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who's interested in Kilimanjaro!

We take a lot of pride in our guides’ ability to check in and keep the team’s confidence high.Congratulations on your incredible achievement! You’re officially part of the Climb Kili family now. The best of the best Climb Kili is easily the best company to trek with. A friend and I chose them after reading countless incredible reviews, and we are so glad we did. From start to finish, the experience exceeded every expectation. We had the most amazing guides, Veda, Manny, and Alfred along with an incredible team of porters who made everything possible. The support system was outstanding, and the food was amazing the entire way up the mountain. We were also lucky to have an awesome group where everyone was around the same age, which made it easy to bond throughout the week.It was important to us that our company was associated with KPAP (the Porters Association), and it was clear throughout the trek how committed Climb Kili is to fair pay and proper treatment of their team. Our entire group successfully summited with little to no issues, which speaks volumes about the professionalism and care of the guides and crew.I truly cannot recommend Climb Kili enough. If you don’t go with them, you’re making a mistake. Thank you to the entire team for the most incredible experience from start to finish!

Ensuring our porters and crew are treated with the respect and fairness they deserve is a core value for us, and it’s wonderful to have climbers who value that mission as well.Veda, Manny, and Alfred will be thrilled to hear your shout-out! They take huge pride in their work, and seeing your entire group reach the summit safely is the best reward they could ask for. We’re also glad the food and the group bond made the week even better.Congratulations on the summit, and thank you for being part of the Climb Kili family! Asante sana!

First four days on Macheme trail are great and not overly challenging. Summit day is a serious endeavor. Be Ready. This was a fantastic experience. Our lead guides Herment and Florian were superb. Our team of porters were heroes. Summiting would not be possible without such a great team to help us. It’s never just about the mountain—there are intra and inter personal dynamics happening that make it such a rewarding time.

Thank you so much for sharing this it really captures the heart of what a Kilimanjaro climb is all about. We’re so glad Herment and Florian made such a strong impression. Their ability to lead with calm confidence while staying tuned into both the physical and human side of the climb is something truly special. And you’re absolutely right about the porters — they are the quiet heroes of every successful summit, and it means a lot to see their effort recognized. What you said about the experience being more than just the mountain really resonates with us. Kilimanjaro has a way of bringing out growth, connection, patience, and teamwork both within yourself and among the group. Those shared moments, challenges, and small victories along the way often become just as meaningful as standing on the summit itself. We’re honored to have been part of such a rewarding journey for you. Asante sana for trusting Climb Kili and for taking the time to reflect so thoughtfully on the experience 💚🏔️

The team were outstanding. A team of 19 people to look after the needs of 5 of us. Manny and Veda went over above and beyond to help us. They are incredibly knowledgeable on this mountain. They helped me with my bag on days when I was struggling. They love their job, it’s apparent. Also, big shout out to Amados who woke us every morning with tea and a smile. He served us every meal and again went over and above for us, all with a beaming smile on his face. The food was good. The team were exceptional. True professionals. Thank you an amazing Kili experience.

Thank you so much for sharing this your words truly mean a lot to us.

It’s incredibly special to hear how supported you felt on the mountain. Manny and Veda put their hearts into what they do, and knowing their knowledge, care, and willingness to step in when things got tough made a real difference for you is exactly why they love this work. That passion you noticed is genuine, and they’ll be deeply touched by your recognition.

And yes Amados absolutely deserves that shout-out. Starting each day with tea, a smile, and such quiet consistency is something our climbers often remember long after the climb ends. He takes great pride in caring for the team, and your appreciation will mean the world to him.

We’re grateful you noticed the effort of the entire crew from the food to the countless small details that help make a demanding climb feel supported and human. Thank you for trusting us with your Kilimanjaro journey and for taking the time to acknowledge the people who made it special.

We’re honored to have been part of your Kili experience.

Once-in-a-lifetime experience with Climb Kili. Everything was incredibly well organized from the very beginning. From the first information about the trip, gear, and preparation, I always felt informed and supported. During the hike, Herment and all the other guides — especially Freddy and Florian — were absolutely amazing. I felt safe at all times and truly trusted that I would reach the summit with this team. The porters were incredibly kind and positive throughout the entire journey. Our chef Justin took such great care of us with warm soups and delicious meals every day, and Dixon, who served us, was wonderful as well. Herment was my hero of the trip. He gave me so much strength, reassurance, and inspiration. I’m deeply grateful to have met him and the whole team — these are people you don’t forget. Reaching the summit is more than just a physical achievement — it’s a real identity upgrade. Be prepared for that. I would absolutely recommend Climb Kili to anyone. The experience is 100% worth it and truly unforgettable.

Reading this truly means the world to us thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful reflection on your climb.

From the very beginning, it’s exactly what we hope every climber feels: informed, supported, and confident in the journey ahead. Hearing that you trusted the process and felt safe with the team every step of the way says everything about the care and professionalism Herment, Freddy, Florian, and the entire crew bring to the mountain.

Your words about the porters, Justin’s cooking, and Dixon’s service really hit home. These are the people who quietly pour their hearts into each day on the mountain, and knowing their warmth and positivity stood out to you is incredibly meaningful. They take immense pride in caring for climbers, often in ways that go unnoticed so it’s special to see them acknowledged.

Herment will be especially touched by what you shared. His calm strength, reassurance, and ability to lift people up when it matters most are what make him such a remarkable guide. The bond formed on the mountain is real, and you’re absolutely right these are people you don’t forget.

We also love how you described the summit. It truly is more than a physical achievement it changes how you see yourself and what you believe you’re capable of. That perspective shift is one of the most powerful parts of Kilimanjaro.

Asante Sana for trusting Climb Kili with such a meaningful chapter of your life. We’re honored to have been part of your journey and grateful to know it left a lasting mark 💚🏔️
