Chris and Shazia are the most incredible duo! Right from the first email, we loved their authentic and passionate approach and wanted to book them for our wedding; during the planning process, they helped us create some amazing photo ideas and filled us with total confidence the whole way through. They kept us so well-informed and communicated brilliantly. On the big day, they showed this amazing knack of making everyone feel totally relaxed, from the oldies right down to the toddlers - the feedback from our guests was impeccable and they blended in perfectly with our friends and family. As a couple who aren’t the first in front of the camera, Chris and Shazia made us feel so chilled and we loved every minute of being photographed by them. We just received the photos of our wedding and every single one is just perfect: do not hesitate to book these guys! You will fall in love with them, their style and the photos they take.

I can’t recommend chocolate chip enough! We chose them because we loved the feel of their photos for an autumn / winter wedding and knew from their gallery that they would capture some lovely real moments with our guests, but that was just the start of it! As soon as we met Chris he made us feel so at ease, reassuring us about what was really important in a wedding and running us through how the day would work. On the day itself he kept us all on time, made sure we got all the shots we wanted, but also kept us laughing and got through the more posed photos quickly so that we could get down to having fun with our guests. Everyone at the wedding fedback to us what a good choice he was in making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. The photos we received very quickly after the wedding were absolutely incredible and really captured our day as it genuinely was. Can’t thank Chris and Shazia enough for making sure we have the most beautiful memories!

We couldn’t be happier with our newborn experience at Chocolate Chip. Seeing our photos come to life made us both so emotional! Chris is genuinely the “bearded baby whisperer” and also has the patience of a saint with pets, particularly our menace of a Border Terrier! We were made to feel welcomed and comfortable from the outset and Chris was attentive throughout, also serving banging coffee! We would book again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!

Watson Wedding We chose Chocolate Chip Photography for our wedding day after seeing them on Instagram - we chose the package a 'Quickie in the City' From the start Chris and Shazia were amazing. We had a video call with Chris prior to the wedding who explained everything so we knew what to expect. On the day Shazia made us both feel relaxed and instantly made us both feel at ease. Shazia took us around parts of Ouseburn and the Quayside in Newcastle and captured some amazing pictures. We were both so happy with the pictures! Amazing comms before the big day including a reassuring video call with Chris a few weeks out. On the day Chris and Shazia couldn’t have been better. Energetic, great vibes and firm enough (in a nice way) to get things done efficiently. A really quick turnaround on our wedding album and we have the most amazing photos of everything from the 2 of us getting ready to the dance floor at night. We got a free newborn photoshoot with chocolate chip through window to the womb. I'm so pleased I put our details down as it was an amazing experience with Chris. He was friendly, professional and made us feel at ease. We went to view the pictures via a sideshow which was lovey touch. The pictures are phenomenal and we found it hard to pick which ones we wanted. We would definitely recommend chocolate chip to anyone as they are amazing!

We first came across Chocolate Chip Photography when viewing photos of our wedding venue (Healey Barn, for whom they are a recommended supplier). Their laid back candid style of photography paired with the fact that they are a duo and therefore better placed to capture all aspects of the day were big pluses for us, and coincidently when looking through their portfolios I recognised not one but two different brides were old uni friends of mine who couldn’t recommend them enough. From initial contact right through to receiving our photos, Chris & Shazia have been a total dream to deal with - straightforward, professional and most importantly just great people all round. It was genuinely a pleasure to have them with us on our wedding day. Shazia was the wing-woman I didn’t know I needed, in-between snapping photos she was cutting tags off dresses, helping with zips, holding bouquets, distracting small children, sewing the sleeves of my dress to stop them falling down (yes!) and cooling me down with some insane vapour wipes on my neck and arms in-between our group shots in a particularly hot corner of the courtyard (which I was very grateful for). Chris was particularly brilliant at commanding our guests for the group shots so that everyone knew what they were doing and when, which was much appreciated by all and got the job done as quickly as possible so that we were able to join our guests as soon as possible. Similarly they know our venue so well that they knew exactly where the best spots were to take some couple portraits and when the best time was to take some insane golden hour shots. We were so surprised with how quickly the photos came through and my goodness they are INCREDIBLE. All my DIY bits that I didn’t get the time to fully appreciate on the day, our gorgeous girls playing with their friends and rolling down the hills in the sunshine, guests mingling and catching up over some canapés and fizz, Gran welling up to my personal vows, my cousin excitedly knocking his chair over as he stands up to us being announced in as Mr & Mrs Williams… they have captured it all. They are better than we could have ever imagined and everyone who has seen them has commented how well they truly capture the day from start to finish (or after the first dance!). I could go on and on but you get the gist - if you are getting married and want to spend the day with two extra people who are so down to earth and lovely with the added benefit that they can document your big day in real and natural way that you can view and treasure forever then look no further and get them booked! 😊

What can we say to do a review justice on Chris and Shazia! From meeting them at a wedding fair at the Boiler Shop, to our pre wedding shoot and then our big day, they have been amazing. We knew instantly from chatting with them at the wedding fair that we wanted them as our photographers. They put us at ease during our pre shoot and we felt so relaxed, which helped us for our big day. Getting the photos back from our pre shoot made us even more excited for the wedding day, as it showed how skilled they both are and there was no doubt in our minds that they would capture our day perfectly. We genuinely had so much fun with them on the day and the pre shoot. On the day they were both so helpful and organised and our guests loved them too. Chris was so helpful throughout and always just a message away. Shazia’s Instagram posts after the wedding were great updates to see whilst waiting for our gallery. We got our gallery back within 2 weeks which was amazing and we laughed and cried looking back on our day. We added on the video bolt on package which we would definitely recommend, to watch back the key parts of the day. If you are looking for relaxed, fun and something a bit different for your day then Chocolate Chip are the photographers for you. 5 starts isn’t enough for these guys, they deserve so much more and we are looking forward to future moments for them to capture.

I don't think this review will do justice to describe how amazing Chris and Shazia are. They're more than just amazing photographers. They're hype people, secrataries, personal stylists and all round great people. They have an eye and attention to detail to everything on the day. Their energy on the day was infectious and they made the guests feel at ease straight away. We honestly can't thank them enough for the photos they took. They've perfectly captured the entire day and created images that we can look back on for years to come with a smile. Looking back through them again brought all the memories back and made us laugh and cry all over again. We can't recommend them enough. They will become your best friends overnight and then produce the best photos you've ever seen all whilst being completely calm and professional.

We are absolutely over the moon with the whole newborn photoshoot experience from Chocolate Chip Photography from beginning to end. We attended window to the womb for a scan during our pregnancy and filled in one of the newborn photo shoot leaflets whilst there. We had completely forgotten about it until Chris text and emailed us just after our little girl made her early arrival to organise a date for the shoot. Chris was extremely friendly and quick to respond. He managed to get us booked in a few days later so we were still in the newborn window to get our photo shoot done. He took the time to get to know a bit about us to plan the shoot and gave us a great set of instructions/advice on how to prepare for the shoot with a newborn which worked an absolute treat. One of the things I was most excited about with the shoot after seeing some of the images in the initial email was getting to have our dogs involved as we have always thought of them as our babies too. Chris was so supportive of this and even asked us when booking whether we had any other children or pets we wanted to bring along so he could plan accordingly. On the day Chris was super welcoming and really lived up to his name as “the bearded baby whisperer”. After following his advice and with his gentle and patient care, our little girl slept soundly through the whole session and we managed to get all photos in an hour and a half (rather than the expected 2-3 hours). Though Chris made it clear there was no rush and made sure our little girl was the priority. We then were able to go for our photo viewing less than a week later and honestly that was so special. The video Chris puts together with all the photos is so beautiful and honestly had us questioning whether we should remortgage and buy everything framed! The gift from window to the womb is the photoshoot and a small framed photo which alone is such a good deal for such a lovely experience and there is no pressure from Chris to upgrade or buy anything else - there is genuinely no catches with this free gifted experience! Though you can upgrade the photos to larger framed images and/or a digital package with a discount of the value of the small framed image price if you choose, which we did on this occasion, meaning we could show all the images to our family (including the video Chris made which brought a couple of them to tears). We genuinely couldn’t recommend Chris enough and would 100% tell anyone considering signing up for the window to the womb newborn shoot gift to go for it! An absolutely amazing experience at our newborn shoot with Chris!!! Highly recommend!! Me and my partner were looking for a newborn photographer who would incorporate our two dogs into the photos. Chris at chocolate chip photography was recommended by a friend and we are so pleased we chose him to capture our newborn family photos! Firstly Chris was able to get us booked in quickly, within a few days of enquiring as we hadn’t been very organised with booking a newborn shoot which was great! I was unsure whether to bring the dogs as we have two cocker spaniels who can be quite excitable but Chris had no worries about them coming along which made me feel at ease with bringing them! On the day of the shoot, we were made to feel so welcome in the studio! It was so laid back and the dogs were able to come in and have a sniff around to get to know their surroundings! Chris was so laid back about this so again we felt at ease! During the shoot, Chris was excellent with our daughter. The care he showed whilst handling her when changing props etc was amazing, we felt so comfortable just letting him work his magic. We were able to have a peek at the shots through his camera throughout and got a choice of different backdrops and props which he used! After seeing some shots through the camera we were already so excited to come back and see the finished results. We were booked in around a week later to come back to a viewing appointment to view our images. On the days leading up to this I kept saying to my partner that I couldn’t wait to go back and see them! We were also given a brochure of products that Chris offers so we had an idea of what we wanted to purchase in our viewing appointment. We went to our viewing appointment and we were both amazed at the images that Chris had captured! I cried whilst viewing them as they were just so beautiful! Throughout this appointment, Chris was so thorough with ensuring that we were happy with our photos and advised us on which photos worked well together for the frame we chose to buy! We were both so in love with the images that a multi frame wasn’t enough so we ended up purchasing that, and a beautiful album with multiple images to cherish the moments that Chris captured! Now we just need to wait for our frame and album to arrive and we are so excited to receive them and show them off in our home!! We returned for the second time to have our second baby’s newborn photo shoot after we were so happy the first time (6 year ago). Again we are blown away at our photos - they are beautiful and memories to keep forever!! We received a newborn photo shoot package as a gift and were thoroughly impressed. From booking, guidance was clear and well- thought out from Chris so that he could get the best photos of our baby. Upon arrival at his studio, Chris put us at ease straight away and studio was comfortable. He’s chatty and easy to get along with while guiding you re what to do to get the perfect shot. He was great with our dog and baby and we’ll definitely book him for any future occasions. We absolutely LOVE the photos. They’re unique and unlike any baby photos I’ve ever seen.
